This week's newsletter. We hope you have a lovely summer!
Year Three had a fantastic day building mini dens. After watching an episode of 'Bear Grylls', we learnt many tips on how to ensure our den would be strong, stable and watertight. We used lolly sticks to represent branches, foil to represent our emergency blanket and tissue paper to represent leaves. We learnt a lot by problem solving, perseverance and a lot of resilience.
The Summer Fair Raffle will be drawn tomorrow. (Wednesday)
Tickets are still available in the office today.

Roll up! Roll up! Just have a look at some of the amazing skills on display! Jugglers, plate spinners and balancing performers!
On Monday, we had a Circus Day in school. All children had the opportunity to learn and practise circus skills.
In the afternoon, the whole school were transfixed as the performers from Cecil Green Arts rode a unicycle and ran on top of a gym ball - we were all amazed and had such a fantastic time!
A big thanks to CAPOW who paid for the event from funds raised throughout the year.

Year 4 were delighted to welcome St Philips’ C E Primary School to spend a day at Wycliffe! Cherry class went to St. Philips to spend the day there.
The theme was ‘aspiration’ and the day was filled with wonderful activities to encourage the two classes to work together in harmony. They worked so brilliantly as a team, shared a wide range of thought-provoking contributions, and enjoyed a fantastic day of shared endeavour. It was beautiful to see two school communities flourishing and working towards a common goal. The children also enjoyed playing various outdoor games on the playground and lunch in garden.
Year 2 were magnificent this week whilst performing their Faith Presentation. In RE, they have been exploring the Islamic faith and presented their learning based around the celebration of Eid. They explained the meaning of Ramadan, shared how Muslims worship and told us facts they had learnt. We were so proud of all of the children's efforts and attitudes! Well done Year 2!
Wycliffe's Inflatables Day is in full swing. Offering a delightful treat for our children under the beautiful, sunny skies.🌞

Year 1 had a 'BEARilliant' time learning all about polar bears at YWP this week. We were so lucky to see four of them in real life playing in the water and even being fed. The children (and grown ups) learnt so much about polar bears, we can't wait to use this to help us to write our fact files! All children were amazingly well behaved!!
This week's newsletter. Have a lovely half term!
This week, Wycliffe received a visit from Parliament Education Services. Rachel led an exciting assembly that taught us all about how Parliament works. We learnt what happens in Parliament to allow new laws to be passed and what we can do as children if we have issues that we want to raise. This workshop fell on a perfect day as the general election was announced that same evening! Year 6 then took part in a 'House of Commons' debate with our very own 'Madame Speaker'. This led on to Year 6 producing some outstanding pieces of writing- their very own arguments!
Thank you to everyone who came to school dressed in green today in support of Mental Health Awareness. This cause is very important to us at Wycliffe, as we prioritise the well-being of everyone. Through your generosity, a total of £135.10 has been raised for the Mental Health Foundation.
A moment to thank all Year 6 families and staff for the support they have given at this time.
Much as we try for it not to be, this is a stressful time for all. You made this easier for us in school. No one was late. No one was ill. Everyone pitched in to do their very best. We can ask for no more.
SATs do go someway to supporting your child on the next leg of their journey, alongside being outside riding their bikes, socialising and doing things that open them up culturally, but, we have not finished with them at Wycliffe just yet! Schoolwork continues with many fun activities woven in and amongst.
Once again, many thanks everyone. Thanks also to Tesco for providing our wonderful breakfast treats each morning!
