🥔Potato Printing 🥔
This morning the children in Blue room have enjoyed printing potatoes on their paper plates. We counted how many potatoes we could get on our plates as the children sang the potato song.The children enjoyed feeling the texture and even smelt them too using paints to make their own different coloured potatoes. We spoke about how potatoes grow and the shapes and sizes of them.

Construction tuff tray 🧱👷♀️
This morning the children have really enjoyed exploring the different textures in the construction tray. They had lots of fun rolling the cars through the sand and shaving foam. Some of the children even dressed up as builders.
Counting dinosaurs 🦖🦕
Outside this morning they have enjoyed exploring a dinosaur counting activity. Lots of the children have shown an interest in counting and mathematics so we have based a lot of our activities around this. They all used their hands to look around the soil to find the dinosaurs hiding.
Colour mixing 🟡🔴🟢🔵
We got even messier this morning when the children all picked up a ain’t brush and started to mix all of the colours together. They all shouted lots of colours that they could see and observed what happened when the mixed all of the different colours together.
Making buns 🧁
Lots of our children have shown an interest in the home corner this term. To follow on from this we provided the children with a baking activity. The children enjoyed naming all of the different ingredients and scoping them into the bowl before mixing them. The children all helped mix the mixture to make buns and then add them to their bun cases. We have had such a fun and busy day today.

I’m a little teapot 🫖
This morning following on from a lot of the children’s interests in messy play and nursery rhymes we set out a tuff tray for the children to make some cups of tea. The children all enjoyed slacking the teabags in the water and then squeezing them into the cups. We used our senses to explore the smells and the felling of the tea bags before and after they got wet.
Safari 🐯🦁
After the children had been to sleep this afternoon we set out a safari tuff tray for them to explore. We looked at the different animals that we can see and made lots of animal noises. We enjoyed making the animals stomp in all of the different textures in the tray.
Eid Mubarak 🌙⭐️
The children in red and yellow room enjoyed exploring a cereal tuff tray to celebrate eid. We would like to wish everyone celebrating a wonderful Eid Mubarak.
🟢Green Room🟢
With today being Eid, we have decided to make some moon and star shaped shortbread biscuits. The children have used a whisk to mix together the butter, sugar and flour. We used cutters to make the stars and then baked them in the oven.

🏴🏟️ UEFA EURO 2024 🏟️🏴
This morning the children in Green room have absolutely enjoyed their own football pitch to support the England team. We had real football fans who watched the match as the children used small world people to maneuver the balls to score a goal the football fans shouted “come on lads”. The children made their own England flags using red strips of paper and lollipops sticks and waved their flags to cheer on the small footballers on the pitch.
The children also sang “it’s coming home” and were super excited.
Green room children have been also decorating their own football shirts using various creative material. The shirts have been personalised to their choice. To join the excitement the adults in Green room also have had their shirt’s personalised.

🏖️🐚☀️ A Day at the Beach 🏖️🐚☀️
A lot of our children have been visiting beaches lately so we have created a beach tuff tray using coloured sand. The children used magnifying glasses to look at the shells and colours of the sea. Some children used their fingers to make marks in the sand whilst other preferred to play with the shells.
We talked about the things we do when visiting the beach such as building sandcastles, splashing in the sea and eating ice cream. The children named some animals that are found in the sea like sharks, dolphins, turtles and whales.

🦖Dinosaur Hunt🦖
This morning blue room have enjoyed hunting for the dinosaurs. The children followed the dinosaur footprints to see where it leads them to. We numbered the footprints one to ten. As the children followed the footprints they counted along and stomped their feet making roaring sounds. We talked about the different dinosaurs we could see and counted the dinosaurs in the tuff tray.

🐻Feeding the bear using different sized bowls and spoons.🐻
This afternoon blue room painted a box using brown paint to make their own big bear. They used three different sized bowls and spoons to feed the bear from, linking it to our book of the month. We talked about sizes, both big and small. The children talked about weather they needed more or less oats on their spoons to feed the bear. They used the props goldilocks to try out all the oats from each bowl which they really enjoyed.

This morning blue room have been busy building their own towers in soil using different sized blocks. The children counted the blocks as they built their towers and used different sized blocks. They enjoyed making sounds of the diggers as they played with them. They talked about the sizes .of the blocks big and small and the texture of the soil.

🗺️ World Environment Day 🗺️
This morning the children in Green Room have been celebrating World Environment Day where the children used small people to role play with in the tuff tray along with nature resources and coloured oats transformed into an earth. The children used natural nature resources to make marks through the coloured oats too as well as feeling the texture of the oats. A child said the oats feel like “crumbs”. We spoke about why it is important to look after the environment and how we could keep the environment safe and tidy.

🐻Making our bear masks🐻
Following our book of the month Goldilocks and the three bears, the children have enjoyed decorating their own masks. We used different sized bowls to pour the paint into and different sized brushes to paint with. The children talked about the story and which bowl belongs to baby bear, daddy bear and mummy bear. We counted the bears and talked about the colours we used and spoke about the sizes of the bears.

Mark making
This morning the children enjoyed taking it in turns with the bingo dabbers to make marks on their paper. The children enjoyed shouting out the names of the colours and helping their friends to find the correct colours.
Outside play
This morning the children have also enjoyed getting some fresh air playing outside. We pushed the balls down the pipe and watched it till it reached the end. We also enjoyed doing lots of running around and chasing our friends around the playground.

🧋🦕 Dinosaur Milkshake 🧋🦕
The children in Green Room have been making their own milkshakes for the Dinosaurs where they helped an adult to sq**rt some brown paint into the water and mix it all up with a paintbrush. The children added and used various containers to empty and fill. They also used pipets to feed the dinosaurs as the children said using a spoon was not a good idea. They children began to roleplay and count how many jugs of milkshake they could make. We spoke about the purpose of drinking milk.

🚲 World Bicycle Day 🚲
This morning the children in blue room have been celebrating World Bicycle Day, to celebrate this day the children used loose parts to decorate the bike tyres in the tuff tray. Some children made their own bike parts with medium sized hoops and lollipop sticks. We spoke about the importance of riding a bicycle and some children said their bicycle goes “fast”. The children have also been biking along outdoors.

This afternoon the children in Blue room have enjoyed saving the bugs and putting the in the pots using tweezers. The children counted how many bugs they could find so we counted. Some children began feeding the bugs some green bug food made from Rice Krispies mixed into green paint. The children enjoyed exploring the texture of the bug food.

Today blue room have enjoyed helping the babies serve lunch, they used the wooden spoons to scoop the rice into the blue bowls. We talked about wether the babies wanted more or less and the sizes of the portions they were serving. The children enjoyed feeling the texture of the rice and talked about eating rice at home.

🍪National Biscuit Day🍪
This afternoon the children have been busy celebrating National Biscuit Day where they decorated their own biscuits using glue and oats to sprinkle on their biscuits.The children enjoyed exploring the texture of the oats and said the oats felt “bumpy”. We spoke about different biscuits we can find at the supermarket and how they would taste like and how biscuit’s come in all shapes and sizes.
The children also enjoyed listening to the Gingerbread Man story.

🐴 Animal World 🐴
This morning Green room children have enjoyed our animal world messy play where they created animal prints and counted to see how many prints they could make. The children continued to mix the colours to see if they could make mud. The children then made animals sounds and began to roleplay with the animals as well as their peers. We spoke about where all the different animals lived and which ones could possibly be our favourites and why.

🍹 Making Mocktails 🍹
Yesterday the children have been busy making their own exotic drinks using real oranges to squeeze them into their hands as well as using pippets to mix the coloured water and then squeeze it into the jug. The children enjoyed emptying and filling and pouring from various containers.A child said “my drink smells very orangey”.

🌈 Observational Painting 🌈
This morning the children in Green room have been using paper plates to form their own rainbows using different paints and paintbrushes.The children had a look at the photo to see what colours they could find to paint in order to form their own colourful rainbow. The children also painted their emotions on too. We had a look at the colour monster story and spoke about our feelings at circle time the children sang the rainbow song too.

This morning blue room have enjoyed cooking their own pasta, and choosing their own toppings. They used big and small spoons to scoop the pasta into their plates. They used their hands to sprinkle the cheese on top feeling the textures and talking about how it feels. The children also talked about eating pasta at home and how often their mummy’s and daddy’s cook it at home.

This morning in blue room the children have enjoyed our Farm tuff tray where they roleplayed with various animals on the farm and made animal sounds. Some children fed their animals straw whilst other children used small people to give them a train ride. We spoke about features of an animal farm and the people who look after the farm also. One child said “we could get milk from the Farm”.

This morning in red room we have been cleaning up the beach! The children used the tweezers to collect the rubbish from the beach to help the sea creatures and put them un the bin. We talked about always putting our rubbish in the bin and explored the different sea creatures. For World Turtle Day, the children decorated some pictures of turtles using glue and tissue paper. They practiced using one handed tools by spreading the glue on their paper and then used their hands to decorate, this also links to our book of the month “That’s not my turtle…”
This afternoon we have been enjoying some yellow, lemon scented playdough outside. The children made different marks with the cutters and enjoyed using their senses to smell and touch the texture. The children said things like “mmm nice!” And “yellow!”

👑 We can make Tiaras 👑
The children have been listening to a story called “Princess and the Wand”. They suggested we could make Tiaras so we did. They decorated their own tiaras using various creative material to stick on using glue and then we added cotton string to the tiaras. The children enjoyed wearing their tiaras where they began to roleplay. Some children said “I’m making a Tiara for my mummy”.

🏴☠️ The Pirates Island🏴☠️
This morning in Green room to celebrate Princess and Pirate Day the children enjoyed saving the small people from the Pirates Island where they opened little map scrolls to see where the danger was on the island so that they could rescue the small people safely. We counted how many people we had saved and put them on the boat. Some children then went to the creative table to make their own treasure maps.

This morning blue room have enjoyed counting the elephants using the wooden numbers. They named the colours they could see and combined them together using their hands to change the colours of the elephants. We talked about what colours Elmer has on her, and looked at the story Elmer. They also enjoyed feeling the texture of the coloured oats and where they squeezed the oats in their hand to release the colour.

👸🏼🏴☠️ Princess and Pirate Day 🏴☠️👸🏼
Today in Green Room we celebrated Princess and Pirate Day. The children were dressed in their beautiful dresses and Pirate costumes. We had a sing a-long and dance to “Frozen - Let it Go” and read a book about Pirate and Princesses. Green Room team also came in with their princess tiaras and dresses.

This afternoon the children in blue room have enjoyed sticking different coloured shapes on Elmer. We spoke about the different colours we used and the different shapes we could see. Some of the children counted the shapes that they were sticking on Elmer.
