I want to help to
Working with an already standout space
It helps that this room is so stunning already! My favourite space in this home, I wanted to use items of scale and impact that felt rooted to the floor. I used simple shapes and curated minimalism, to work with the ornate features of the room. Lightweight linen curtains frame the windows and don’t block them.

Excellent games room progress. On the home straight on this one! Just AV to be fitted, a window blind, and the pool table to come.
It’s all worked out just as I visualised. Soon my client can enjoy drinks, pool, Tv, Sonos and some interactive darts!
Reasonably tight on space for seating, so I’ve used the alcoves and window to good effect.
Transforming a space.
This was an empty dark space on a half floor between two main floors. I transformed it into a contemporary home office, with sky blue walls, denim blue woodwork and black metal finishes. I designed a minimalist handleless storage unit and matching low-level sideboard in a modern Scandinavian style and filled the room with contemporary furniture and accessories. It’s now a light, bright and inviting space for homeworking.

Excellent progress on my games room project. The bar, shelving and all new lighting and switching is in. The panelling is on the wall, seat cushions are made, the blind is ready.
Just final decoration, AV installation and pool table delivery left. The room will be painted in F&B Off black for a cool, moody club feel.
We’ve had club posters framed to reflect my clients love of Ibiza. They look great.
When selecting the perfect palette for a room, it's easy to overlook how colours can change under different lighting conditions.
Colour theory informs us about how humans perceive colour depending on lighting and placement, helping us understand why some shades complement each other while others may not quite harmonise.
A colour might appear stunning in direct sunlight, but could leave much to be desired when shrouded in shadows.
To ensure you're making the right choice, consider using swatches to assess how the paint appears in different areas of the room throughout the day.
I believe that design inspiration is everywhere, you just need to teach yourself to ‘look’. It sounds obvious but some of us don’t. I also think that all forms of design can inspire each other.
During a recent trip to London, I was reminded of the many things from which I draw design inspiration.
• The attention to detail in the dusting on my coffee, detail touches are really important in design
• The subtle rugged design elements in the sharp lines of an otherwise streamlined Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
• Overthinking is underrated, creativity is all about thinking
• Shapes and textures, like the roof at Hays Galleria
• I love travelling on The Underground, it’s always full of creativity ( the underground identity, the map, the Sherlock graphics on the wall at Baker Street, and creative advertising like this)
• A hotel display to celebrate Spring! They could have just used a few plants and flowers, but this was way more immersive
• Branding, design and colour combinations on this merchandise at the Postal Museum
• The amazing colours and textures in this dish
If you can train yourself to notice details, spanning from design elements to presentation, and then store them away in your mind... they will likely come in handy later.
Art by Kai & Sunny.
Because of the neutral colour scheme in some areas of this Georgian home, I needed to find art that could stand alone as focal points for passers by. Having previously come across Kai and Sunny on a previous job, I knew that their pieces would be perfect for these light and airy spaces.
The artists' hypnotic flowing lines create a sense of dynamic movement in an otherwise still space, and the layers of texture within each frame reach out to the viewer and draw them in for a closer look.
I worked with the artists directly to choose the perfect works for this setting. I had the pieces float mounted in crisp white frames to elevate their presence.
Who doesn't love a before and after?
This room was the smallest of four guest bedrooms in this house. I wanted each room to have its own colourway and and theme; for this room, I chose a palette of elegant blue, dark rose pink, and greys, all elevated by pops of brass and black.

Games room progress.
This kicked off this week with some great progress made. First fix electrics, bar fitted, alcove seats slotted in. Just need quartz fitted next week then it’s panelling, second fix etc. and final decorating.
The room will have a pool table, interactive dartboard, large tv, and Sonos.
Guests can sit on bespoke window seats, alcove seats, or the bench all beautifully made locally.
Who says coat hooks can't be both functional and fun?
In my recent project, I integrated these playful hooks by Muuto to infuse a touch of personality into the hallway.
Muuto dots feature a functionally sculptural design, offering limitless arrangement options on the wall in any desired pattern and colour combination.
I loved the natural, Nordic aesthetic of these hooks, which beautifully complement the rich, deep green of the hallway.
Crafted from ash wood, they introduce an organic feel that harmonised with the bench below, softening the hallway's deep green hue.
I deliberately avoided symmetry to give a playful and spontaneous vibe.
What do you think?
The psychology behind your palette. 🎨
When it comes to choosing colour schemes for your home, there's more to it than taste and style.
Do you know that different colours have been scientifically proven to alter your mood, feelings, and even your behaviour?
Think of a place or room that calms you, and then consider the colourways that are present within it. What colours are they?
Can you think of other instances where those colours have contributed towards a sense of tranquillity for you?
Although it's not an exact science, and other variables contribute towards the effects of a room, applying colour psychology to your next decorative project could strongly impact your results.

Bringing the outside in. 🌳
This stunning silver birch wallpaper was designed by Cole & Son Wallpaper in 1959. Although I've seen it utilised in much more traditional settings, I felt that it elevated the modern Scandi design of this guest bedroom and reflected the room's views of the local park.
Not only does this natural wallpaper bring a sense of calm into the bedroom, but it also creates a focal point in an otherwise featureless room.

When architecture meets comfort. 🪑
This is the 1957 Paulistano chair, as featured in New York's MoMA The Museum of Modern Art design collection.
This exquisite piece of furniture was designed by Brazilian architect, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, who perfectly married comfort with timeless elegance. I chose leather to work with the other natural elements in this living room (oak and marble).
Its modern simplicity complements the ornate Georgian features of the home and provides an understated spot for reading.

Here's a collection of some of the art I’ve recently chosen using my artist and gallery contacts.
I’m a big believer that art should be an integral part of any new decorative scheme. It can transform a space and add that all-important finishing touch to a room.
Studies show that art can even positively benefit our mood and inspire creativity.
However, choosing the right art for your home can be a challenge.
Art is a form of expression – resonating with you and reflecting your interests and passions.

If you want to make a small room look bigger, use the power of reflection.
Mirrors aren’t just a point of decoration or a vanity check, they're a useful way of expanding space and infusing light. Without them, rooms risk feeling confined.

Tired of your space echoing with every step?
High ceilings and big rooms may be grand, but the noise can really tarnish the ambience. To bring warmth, comfort, and tranquillity to your space, consider incorporating the right soft furnishings.

Love modern Scandinavian design? But how do you make it work in your period home? Here’s a quick guide. ✨
Scandinavian design was born from a desire to move away from the past and look to the future. The design world has long since revelled in the minimalist principles of the style.
Our love of this style continues today with reproductions of past classics, as well as new designers and producers of the style.

Switching things up with statement lighting. 💡
For this grand room with high ceilings, I wanted a bold light fitting that could elevate the dining area and provide a focal point for anyone who entered.
I chose the Nuura Miira Cluster Chandelier for its timeless design and Nordic elegance.
Centred above the dining table, the six blown-glass spheres spread a soft white light across the room.
I also installed a dimmer switch to ensure the light levels are versatile enough to cater for a wide range of atmospheres. Cable lengths are adjustable, so I had the light hung in a 'waterfall ' style that flows down to the table.
Picture perfect: How to choose the right art for your home.
From complementing our interior design to expressing our interests and even setting the overall mood, the art we choose to curate our walls and decorate our homes can have
a lasting impression.
But how do you decide between:
🖌A Matisse and a Monet?
🎨Or a Hepworth and a Gormly?

Nice to see the coffee table book I created for my client on display in their home. It’s filled with professional images of the fully finished and styled rooms.
I’m a total advocate of creating a memorable Customer Experience, and sometimes those little touches help.
Items arrived yesterday for a games room project. A really stunning bench made to size, and specified with chosen timber quality, tinted stain, and you can even choose the final sanding grit level! Plus bespoke bar units, floating shelf and alcove seats all to match. Check out who make all their products locally in Bristol.
The room will have an AV wall, Sonos, bar with fridge, pool table, alcove seating and an interactive dartboard.
NATURE INSPIRED GUEST BEDROOM Case Study
Inspired by the views from this top-floor room, I brought the outside in and created a modern, nature-inspired scheme. Stunning wallpaper creates a focal point, and the calming print sets the tone for the rest of the space which is painted in a natural green.
A key element of the design was the choice of a pillow-style headboard bed, custom upholstered in a Raf Simons fabric, with a mattress from a luxury British brand, adding a layer of comfort and quality. Oak bedside tables and an oak desk continue the natural theme, with a swivel chair upholstered to match the bed.
There’s simple, crisp, white hotel-quality bedding, topped with a velvet bedspread for colder nights. A simple linen fabric from Fermoi was chosen for the blinds in a complementary green shade.
I added pendant lighting with an oak fitting, plus modern white bedside wall lights for reading. The room is styled with organic framed prints, potted plants, travel books, and other decorative items and has been transformed into a welcoming guest retreat.

A CAR ENTHUSIASTS’ STUDY Case Study
My vision for this room was to brighten the dark space and make it a contemporary, productive but comfortable environment.
Sky blue walls teamed with denim blue woodwork and black metal finishes were the basis of the scheme, with toffee-coloured leather and white oak to add warm colours.
A bespoke desk was commissioned from local craftspeople, with hidden cable storage and a matching pedestal. A classic leather Eames desk chair provides a comfortable place to work, and there’s a deep leather armchair for reading or meetings.
I designed a minimalist handleless storage unit and matching low-level sideboard in a modern Scandinavian style and commissioned local cabinet makers to build and install them. A hand-knotted natural-coloured deep pile rug designed by Danish artist Carsten Beck Nielsen adds warmth to the space.
I chose a geometric Scandi-inspired printed fabric in complementary blues for the blind to add pattern. Lamps are placed around the room for subtle lighting.
The art in this room proved to be an important finishing touch. I sourced motorsport art including an original ‘Senna’ movie cinema poster, along with photographic prints depicting some of the greats of motorsport. The theme was continued with beautiful coffee table books covering car marques and motorsports.
The project demonstrates my commitment to creating personalised environments that reflect the unique tastes and interests of my clients.

Happy Blue Monday!
What a shame we associate this colour with the supposedly most depressing day of the year.
Here are some of my favourite blue things from projects.
MASTER BEDROOM SUITE Case Study
My scheme incorporated a rich, dark blue palette paired with soft grey and burnt orange accents.
Working with the room’s scale, a super king black oak four-poster bed takes centre stage, adding an elegant focal point. Warm, oak minimalist cabinets with black steel frames complement the bed and natural timber flooring. Brass fixtures and fittings were replaced with further black elements for a more modern look and to add contrast. Sphere-shaped contemporary ceiling-hung Muuto lights create the perfect bedside glow.
I introduced heavy geometric patterned weave curtains with contemporary wave headings and matching cushions, adding texture. A Nordic Knots thick pile carpet was chosen for its luxurious feel.
A large swivel lounge chair with a reading light offers a place to unwind with a book or enjoy the view from the large windows.
The room is finished with carefully selected accessories, including hotel-quality bedding, art, objects, and plants.
The dressing room seamlessly extends the design language, incorporating a geometric rug, leather and black metal bench, a soft floor lamp, a full-length floor-standing mirror and quirky Penguin book-inspired art for a touch of personality.
In the bathroom, a rich marine blue (replacing pink), along with a contemporary screen print and three-dimensional glass and timber wall art, completes the modern, luxurious feel.
