Please please do keep sharing such an important message to all the ladies out there, even to men for their loved ones around them.

A share takes a few simple seconds on a smart phone, but could save lives down the line x

Good morning all!
So how will you make your Friday that little bit more productive πŸ€”

Would you 1) like to have the chance to think of someone?
Would you 2) like to have the chance to think of a few people?
Would you 3) like the chance to think of absolutely everyone that is atleast linked to you or your family?

I know now which option I would choose. 3! All day everyday!

Today if you pick option 3! All you have to do is ring your Dr's, and ask a simple question.......
Is my smear up to date and when can I book in.

Don't be sat in my seat with a terminal diagnosis, preparing to leave behind a Fantastic husband and 4 children at the age of 32!

Don't walk round in that haze thinking it won't happen to me! Because cancer doesn't care who you are!

looking at the ceiling!

Good evening fellow people of lawshall,

as you are aware the sole purpose of myself creating this page was to try and bring some festivities to the village, whilst we was on restricted movements to keep as many people safe during these weird and untested times. I hope that the recipients of the Christmas card exchange enjoyed their cards from someone new in the village, I also hope you all managed a trip to golden woods to enjoy the log slices decorated by everyone, and I hope you managed to keep up with the daily advent calendars contributed by those of the village , and most importantly enjoy the big man himself passing through the village .

now my question is this , what to do with the page....... there are several options which we could carry the page forward rather then closing it down because Christmas is over , as I feel we still need to very much keep our spirits up whilst still in tier 4.

first option
would be a slight name change to the page - once upon a time in lawshall . and keep it to an open group for the community but with occasional competitions as the seasons go by, a page where people can add things either for sale , or people to share things such as recipes or hacks that could help others .

second option
would be to make it a help others page whilst we are all still locked down being as it has quite a strong holding of members which I feel would keep our community spirits going, and certainly help the more vulnerable amongst the village.

final option would be to close it as hope that it down and hope that its at least brought a smile to some on the countdown to Christmas

but I would certainly like to hear how others feel about it , so I open it to the floor what to do with the page now,

I myself am still very happy to keep posting things and thinking of ideas act ,as mentioned it kinda helps keep me sane during my ongoing treatment .

Sharing the face behind this page πŸ€—πŸ˜˜

I genuinely hope that this page is bringing some fun to the local residents, I know that this year has had quite an impact on peoples ability to socialise so they may feel lonely or a little isolated,
That's what prompted me to start this page, to allow those who may have no other sort of company or conversation, it also gives me the chance to clutch onto normality and something to sink my teeth into alongside my palliative treatments.

We at "once upon a time in Lawshall"are here to help, let's keep our fabulous community helping each other, whilst throwing in some fun events to get stuck into πŸ€—

Photos from Once upon a Christmas in lawshall's post 28/11/2020

Good morning all πŸ‘‹
So I'm not sure how many of you actually know me or my households ongoing battles at the moment, but I'm definitely one for being open and honest.
My name is clare Skinner, a wife to Douglas Skinner and mum to 4 children, aiesha, amelia, logan and willow,
Last year I was diagnosed with cervical cancer which because it was early stages they stated it was cured in Aug 19 after various treatments, we'll it returned in December and they destaged me as terminal in January this year with 12-18months prognosis πŸ˜³πŸ˜”.
Which again after more chemo and radiotherapy they have managed to push it back to nothing being seen and only 2 nodules that they aren't to worried about.

So my main mission was to give my children. Loads of happy memories before I go downhill, obviously summer came and went but was thoroughly enjoyed, then Halloween which is why I put the idea out for the Halloween trail,
An then it came along to planning for Xmas, which came the birth of this group, which it truly is fab to see how many have came forward to bring the festivities to lawshall for everyone to enjoy.

But yesterday, we got the news back from my 3 monthly scan and they have said that I'm still stable, and that the said 2 nodules have only grown 1 mm but could be discrepancies between the radiographers measurements, but they've said there is no new growths.

The reason again I'm laying everything out here, I will be pushing hard to make Christmas fabulous for my family and if others from the village can help join in I will be truly grateful. As I'm sure our household is not the only one in lawshall that has had or having a rough year.
