Deputy Chair for SSAFA Service Committee
A fantastic opportunity for a rewarding and high-profile additional duty at RAF Honington.
The SSAFA Service Committee exists to support the local serving community through the allocation of financial grants to individuals, families and the community. The committee also raises awareness and funds throughout the year through involvement in various stn events and fundraisers.
With new community projects in progress and a busy events schedule ahead; now is an exciting time to join this dynamic committee.
Please do get in touch with Sqn Ldr James Collo, SSAFA Service Committee Chair to discuss and to express your interest.

On Wednesday 20 March, the SSAFA Honington in Service team hosted a Veterans Coffee Morning at the Royal Air Force Honington HIVE Community Centre. For Veterans young and old, with serving and non-serving, it was a great chance to get together and chat over a coffee and cake. Promoting strong bonds within our community that we are one family, here for one another through adversity and hardship. Plus a good giggle over old stories!
We raised a brilliant £274 through the raffle. Prizes were donated by generous companies within the community.
Thank you to RAF Benevolent Fund and RAF Association who also attended and helped, along with the serving RAF personnel and civil service volunteers on station. Special thanks to ESS who helped cater for the whole event, donating lots more tea, coffee and cake than we first anticipated!
A huge success, and great effort from all.
