Emma already had the foundations needed for rounder glutes, so we didnβt need to focus on gaining weight to build here. So we started at 1x glutes session per week to ease her into the routine of actually going to the gym, and built up to 2-3x per week of glute focus sessions that were tailored to her personally.

She said βi actually look forward to to going in the gym nowβ
2-3 times a week Emma still does a mix a of glutes & cardio sessions, and ensures that on her non training days she meets her steps goal. She has also followed my advice on her food intake to compliment the training.

Iβm a Mama to 2 gorgeous boys & i didnt find the gym until after i gave birth to my 2nd baby boy. Pre children, i was a pole fitness instructor alongside my day job, so i was pretty active, wrapping myself around a pole. After my 2nd bubba came along i wanted to build my strength & stamina back up again, i decided a gym was the way to go.
So, continuing being active during & after pregnancy is a YES from me, even if it means the activity is slightly different.
For those who incorporate working out as part of their daily routine for physical & mental wellbeing pre pregnancy, carrying an active routine forward into your pregnancy journey seems only natural.
If you remember some key points to ensure you are being safe, and doing the best for yourself & the small human you are growing, exercising is considered to be a good thing.
Here are just a few of the points to keep in mind (there is more) :
βοΈ ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, if it says rest REST
βοΈ HYDRATION is a must π¦
βοΈ As bump grows, the load you lift / work with decreases
βοΈ no supine exercises after the 1st trimester
βοΈ be cautious of movements that pose risk to bumping the bump (so pole fitness was a no go for me as most of the movements required pressure on the stomach area)
βοΈ exercise with someone, to spot you
βοΈ β to plyometric (jumping) exercises after the 1st trimester

π€ A space where new mothers can train without the worry of organising childcare so they can actually go and put their self care as a priority
π€ A space where anyone can train and be coached, to be pushed to reach any goal they might have, to feel good and leave with a smile on their face

π€ i like to train 3-4 times a week, keeping rest days active too because sitting still is not for me
π€ i dont love to cook, i love to eat, so im learning to like the process of cooking π§π»βπ³
π€ I love being around other people, Iβm that person who will speak to and smile at anyone.
