Another fab day at Ty Llandaff! Everyone enjoyed a visit from Cali who made herself very comfortable with residents today….

Yay! It’s National Chocolate Day!
Ty Llandaff residents celebrated with chocolate tasting and a chocolate quiz!
Afterwards they told us:
’We enjoyed that, not just the chocolate bit, the quiz was good too’ 🤣

Even the blackbirds find our garden relaxing at Ty Llandaff, this little one popped in, had a rest and flew off completely fine after about 10 mins 😊

It is so heartwarming to see the reactions when Cali the Therapy dog visits. Residents and staff alike, love to spoil her with treats and she puts a smile on everyones face. Thanks to her beautiful owner for sharing Cali x

It was a packed house for todays performers ‘Shirt & Skirt’. Residents sang along, enjoying the fabulous mix of music from this fantastic duo.

This afternoon we celebrated PRIDE month with an art project, residents used the skills learnt with Sarah from Creative Mojo West Cardiff! Creating a fantastic poster to celebrate Pride 2024

Ty Llandaff residents spent their morning getting pampered, having nails cut, filed and painted.

Today was all about the Garden at Ty Llandaff,
soaking up warmth, exercising our brains with a quiz and keeping cool with ice lollies and iced drinks!

Our Royal Ascot Ladies day races were so much fun today! Everyone got involved and there was tons of laughter………….. Leanne was the overall Champion Jockey, winning nearly all of her races on her stallion Rocco !

It's Men's Health Week!

Men's Health Week is dedicated to providing boys and men with the information, services, and treatments they need to lead healthier, longer, and more fulfilling lives.

This year's theme, "The Lives of Men in Our Communities," aims to raise awareness about men's health and break the stigma surrounding men's health issues. With support of our stakeholders and the home GP, we look after our Ty Llandaff men with passion and pride. Let’s give a big shout out to Ross Kirkman who has embarked on his journey in memory of his amazing dad Lee raising funds for Ty Llandaff. Ride safe Ross

☀️ As we step into summer glorious sunshine and heat (we hope), we would like to take the opportunity to remind our neighbours and the community they are welcome to make use of our facilities. Please feel free to pop in to top up your water bottles, or for a break from the sun. Our friendly staff will make you feel at home in our cafe, some home made cake and a cup of coffee or tea . ☀️

And residents marked today with, D-Day themed puzzles, they created a superb piece of art to to represent our thanks to the veterans and victims of the war and the huge effort by everyone on D-Day to finally stop the German onslaught!
And the afternoon saw everyone singing along to singers from Lost Chord with some special war time favourites!

We took a Road Trip!

We couldn’t be prouder of our very own Leanne, and today we just became a whole lot prouder (if possible) passing her level 3, destined for great things. We currently have 24 staff working towards a qualification in Health and Social Care. Just wow 💥💥

Celebrating VE Day at Tŷ Llandaff - Tŷ Llandaff Care Home At Ty Llandaff we've been celebrating VE Day with our residents, allowing them to relive cherished memories and celebrate.

The last day of week saw the Team at Ty Llandaff enjoy some treats!

Our fabulous hairdresser Dawn got the team to let their hair down by giving haircuts and styling - Thank you beautiful. Everyone looked and felt amazing! 🤩✂️🩷

Our brilliant chef James and team cooked up a treat providing an afternoon buffet for the team - Thank you to you all, food was great and the chance to get together and chat was so well deserved! 🥪🍰🫶👏
