BIO:
Dr Liliana Barros is an expert in endodontics, with a degree from Porto University (2007), Portugal, with distinction and post-graduate training (PGDip) in endodontics from University of Lisbon.

Currently, her professional focus is on Endodontics, which has become her greatest passion. This special interest allows her to concentrate on delivering meticulous and methodical root canal treatments, ensuring outstanding quality and service.

Dr Barros stays up to date on all the latest advancements in endodontic care, ensuring that his patients receive only the best possible treatment.

With a trustworthy reputation built on 15 years of experience in the dental industry, she has been recognized for her performance and dedicated work ethic. Her ultimate objective is to attain the highest standard in Endodontics through the use of a dental microscope and the application of the latest evidence-based practices.

Dr Barros is a member British Endodontic Society (BES), the European Society of Endodontology (ESE), the Portuguese Endodontic Society (SPE).

BIO:
Frederico comes from Portugal. After graduating from Porto, he has held a post at the University as a clinical assistant, worked in private practice and at a private Hospital.

Frederico has completed his MSc in Endodontics, with Distinction, at the prestigious King’s College London.

Currently, Frederico has a limited practice to Endodontics and collaborates as a clinical tutor at the Delta Dental Academy in Bristol.

He is also the UK Key Opinion Leader, for the award-winning German microscope brand CJOPTIK and Eighteeth Medical. Frederico is a member of the British Endodontic Society (BES), the European Society of Endodontology (ESE), the British Academy of Microscope Dentistry (BAMD) and the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry (AMED).

Our patient wanted to improve the appearance of the crowned teeth as seen in the 'Before Picture', especially the darker areas around the gums and the crowns' shade/colour.

Dr Daria Ionescu achieved this new look by replacing the lateral incisors and canine crowns in the upper jaw to improve the cosmetic aesthetics of our patient, giving her a more natural looking smile.

Meet our Dentist Dr Oonagh McSwiney 🦷

Oonagh graduated from the University of Bristol in 2017 and undertook her elective period treating refugees on the Myanmar border.

Whilst completing her vocational training in London, Oonagh obtained her MJDF qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons and won the prize for ‘Best Case Presentation’ – a complex restorative case involving several disciplines of dentistry. In 2018 she was shortlisted as a finalist at the ‘Future of Dentistry Awards’.

Oonagh is dedicated to post graduate training. She is a fully certified Inman Aligner and Invisalign provider, allowing the ex*****on of orthodontic treatment.

After qualifying Oonagh immersed herself in the field of Facial Aesthetics, completing training at the Royal College of General Practitioners. She has a keen sensibility for facial harmonisation and is passionate about providing undetected injectables. She can also offer patients sedation and as well as all aspects of general dentistry.

Meet our Dentist Dr Daria Ionescu 🦷

Daria is a friendly and enthusiastic dentist with over 20 years of experience of general dentistry and has an interest in crown and bridge work, composite bonding and clear aligners.

A Romanian native, she has been providing quality dental care in Cheltenham since 2008.

Being passionate about personal and professional development, Daria completed Postgraduate training at Certificate level in Restorative Dentistry and in Endodontics and she is a Smilelign Certified provider.

Daria loves being able to help patients with their smiles and overcome their fear of dentistry. She enjoys general dentistry, encompassing procedures such as white fillings, extractions, root canals, teeth whitening, onlays, crowns, bridges, occlusal splints and removal dentures.

Daria has a gentle approach, and she is dedicated to getting to know each patient she treats because she believes that this way the patients get the best outcome.

She has a teenage son and enjoys walking in the Cotswolds and travelling with her family; keen to see the world. Daria is a PADI trained scuba diver and is learning to ski.

National Smile Month 2023 is all about shining a light on the importance of brushing our teeth.

Twice daily toothbrushing is the cornerstone to good oral health. It is important because it removes plaque. If the plaque isn't removed, it continues to build up, feeding on the bits of food left behind and causing tooth decay and gum disease.

Yet despite the benefits of toothbrushing, many of us still do not consider it a priority.

In the UK, around one-in-three people do not brush twice a day while one-in-four regularly skip brushing.

Poor toothbrushing habits are a key factor for two-in-three UK adults having visible plaque, almost one-in-three (31%) suffering from signs of tooth decay, and three-in-four (74%) having had teeth extracted.

Introducing: Dr James Critchley

Dentist with Special Interest in Dental Implants, BDS (Wales) 2000

James is an enormously experienced restorative dentist with a passion for dentistry. Following in the footsteps of his father, who was one of the UK's leading implant dentists, James naturally had an interest in dental implants; he has spent time at the home of dental implants in Gothenburg Sweden, to gain knowledge and skills in this area of dentistry. This was followed by time in America being mentored by some of the world's top cosmetic dentists, and to date, James has completed more than 2,000 dental implant cases.

In 2005 James opened his own practice in Cheltenham, Pittville Lawn before it became part of Portman Dental in 2011. James has built a particular reputation for his restorative and cosmetic dentistry skills, including the all-on-four technique, multi-implant placements for bridges and single implants to restore missing teeth.

James now concentrates on surgical treatments at the practice and takes on any internal and external referrals for Dental Implants.
