For a few years after the ex*****on of Charles I, John Bradshawe, Chief Justice of the Palatinate of Chester and Flintshire, was made the most powerful man in the country.

Using actual records of the trials in Chester and Flint, this is the story of how John Bradshawe's judgement of three ordinary women in Chester caused him to question all that he thought he knew.
