Even though a cervical screening might be a daunting thought, and even more so for trans people because of dysphoria, it is incredibly important to get checked. Cervical screening saves lives - encourage the people that you love to get screened if they are overdue a test.
If you are anxious about attending screening, would like more information, or would like to book an appointment email [email protected]. Drop in appointments are also available just report to reception on the day and you will be seen as soon as possible.

Lent is almost over so we would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter!! Here are a few tidbits about the upcoming holiday period...
Ramadan started last weekend and we want to share a couple of things with you about the festival, and how we can support our Muslim colleagues during this year's Islamic Holy Month.
Firstly we ask our DBTH colleagues to remember that Ramadan is a time where others may choose to fast. The effects of fasting may be noticeable and we encourage conversations around this between team members and line managers to ensure that appropriate support is provided through the month.
Secondly, please consider the terminology that is used when speaking to our Muslim colleagues, below are a couple of examples of suggestions for inclusive terminology!
Saturday the 2nd April marks the World Autism Awareness Day, with this week being dedicated to World Autism Acceptance Week (28/03-03/04).
Equality at work is always a top priority and here is a fact page to help us all learn a bit more about providing appropriate support to our autistic colleagues.
Our next Ability Network meeting is on 27th April, 11-12.30. If you're interested in coming along and learning more about supporting colleagues with disabilities, get in touch with Kirby Hussain [email protected] and join us!
Every 31st March is Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV), where trans and non-binary people are celebrated, and awareness is raised around the discrimination that trans people face across the world. Please continue to read this post and show your support by using one of the hashtags below!
The LGBT Foundation does amazing work in raising this awareness and have released a campaign called 'I am Enough' with the following aims:
Affirmation & Empowerment- For trans people, a message of strength, resilience and community. The aim of the campaign is to provide a message that ties together the following themes:
Acceptance of individuals in their chosen gender, just the way they are without the need for change/treatment/qualifying factors.
Promotion of self-deceleration of gender Identity.
Visibility of non-binary identities.
Awareness Raising & Allyship- For non-trans/cis people to be able to stand up and show solidarity and support for their trans family, friends and colleagues.
There are two sections to the Enough Campaign - , which can be used by trans and non-binary people, and , for allies to show solidarity with and support for trans and non-binary people. Use these hashtags to get involved with the conversation on social media, along with !
Happy Mother's Day!
Not an easy day for some but hopefully everyone has had a fantastic weekend, however you've spent it 🥰
Why do we need an EDI page at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals?
Essentially to enable us to treat every member of our workforce fairly!
Equality - equal opportunities and fair treatment for all
Diversity - valuing the range of individual differences within our people at the Trust
Inclusion - allowing all staff to feel safe and accepted to be themselves at work
Look out on this page for information and opportunities to get involved in DBTH's growth into these areas, and improving our workforce.
Why be a part of the problem when you can be a part of the solution?!
