Another fabulous event at Doncaster Athletic Stadium for our annual sports day. The children were amazing as they supported their team, putting in 100% effort to achieve points for their team.

Go Swimstars Swim School - Summer Safety Pledge!
The children in Year 5 & 6 were incredibly focused during a talk about water safety and while they practiced CPR. They are now more confident with what to do if they find themselves in danger while in water.
Year 5 Residential... what an amazing and fun-filled few days!
The rain did not stop the fun during the Year 5 camping trip at Hatfield Moors as the children made memories to last a lifetime.
I am sure they all had lots of stories to tell and enjoyed catching up on sleep!!
More pics will be shared with the children after the holiday.
*** Break the Rules Day***
A huge shout out to our wonderful PTA who organised the 'Break the Rules Day' and sold snow cones at the end of the day which proved to be very popular!
We appreciate all the donations during these fundraising events as we are working towards developing our outside areas.
What a fabulous surprise to end the week!
The sun was shining as the Year 6 children had a fun morning at Kilham Hall park and a lovely treat at the end of the day from the PTA with a snow cone.
I have been so proud as all the children demonstrated their resilience as they stayed focused during the week of their SATs.
We know this is only a snapshot of their amazing abilities but their attitude has been incredible and for that we could not be more proud.
A huge thank you to the whole team who ensured the children were prepared and that everything ran smoothly, including breakfast each morning.
****Hill House Cross Country 2024****
Last Saturday, 14 of our children represented Branton in the annual cross country event at Hill House.
Running against approximately 250 children from 16 other schools, the children showed great resilience as they ran in some very muddy conditions, determined to reach the finish line.
We are incredibly proud of them for achieving such brilliant results, including 2nd and 3rd place in the boys under 11s.
Well done to them all and we look forward to entering again next year!
HAPPY EASTER TO OUR FAMILIES
Thank you to the PTA for organising the Easter egg hunt today... we are incredibly grateful for all those special memories you make for the children throughout their primary journey.
We hope you all enjoy some quality time together over the Easter break and return ready for the exciting summer term.
Cheers!! Love from, Team Branton
Thank you to 'The Local' for welcoming us for our end of term 'gathering.'
***Danum Read Aloud Finalist 2024***
We are all super proud of Eden for representing Branton St Wilfrid's CE Primary School in the final at the Danum Museum and Art Gallery this evening. The theme for this year was to read aloud from a selection of 'book openings.' Miss Webster also attended the event alongside Eden, describing her as 'a credit to the school.' Her diction, fluency and expression was excellent and deserved her spot up there tonight. Well done Eden - we are all incredibly proud!!

Thank you to Father Andrew for such a wonderful Easter Mass at St. Wilfrid's Church yesterday. It is always good to keep in mind the true meaning of Easter. The children who contributed to the service through the writing and reading of prayers, answering questions confidently and the readings absolutely blew me away and yet again the singing was beautiful.
A huge thank you to the five parents who came to help Mrs Green this week to clear the Forest school area in preparation for the next year group after Easter. With your support, it allows our children to have such wonderful experiences as part of our school.
Same time next week please!!!
The children have loved being in the sensory garden, making bird feeders. Let's hope this encourages the birds to join us in our lovely outdoor sensory space.
Amazing experience for our pupils today as they represented Doncaster schools in the Panathlon Challenge!
Pupils competed against the winning schools of the Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham competition in the South Yorkshire Final , held in the EIS Sheffield indoor athletics arena.
The children were amazing participating in lots of fun activities and should be incredibly proud of themselves for representing Doncaster schools.
So proud of our small but mighty team of Y5&6 who represented us at Hill House School this evening in the Spelling Bee competition. Amazing effort from them all which resulted with them being awarded the Doncaster and District Spelling Bee School Winners 2024!!! We shall display the shield with pride!!! Well done to everyone who took part.
***SMARTIE CHALLENGE 2024***
A huge shout out and thank you to our wonderful PTA who organised this month's Smartie challenge, raising nearly £500 for school funds.
The class which raised the most money was Year 3 so they are looking forward to their class treat.
Thank you for donating and supporting our school throughout the year - it really does make a difference to the experiences we can offer our children.
*** JUNIOR MAKE YOUR MARK 2024***
Our wonderful Primary Ambassadors have been busy launching this year's top five issues. Children across Doncaster can vote on issues that mean the most to them and have their voices heard.
Whichever issues gets the most votes in Doncaster will then be campaigned on by the Doncaster Youth Council.
World Book Day 2024
So many different characters around school as the children and staff represented favourite books or authors. There was certainly a buzz in the air as they were engaged with different activities from the reading cafe, book recommendations, competitions, boggledybooks, letter writing to authors, catwalks and lots of leadership from our wonderful reading ambassadors.
The Eco Ministers have been busy today planting willow domes in our Forest School area. We cannot wait to see how these develop to enhance our outdoor learning space.
A big thank you to Doncaster Council for supplying and coordinating the planting.
Rose Learning Trust Dodgeball Competition Year 5/6
Such a great competition with over 60 pupils participating.
The final was between Branton and Scawsby - the the last game of the match, points tied and down to the last player each, and it was Scawsby who hit our last remaining player in the last few seconds.
Branton then finished in second! Massive well done to the team who showed some fantastic team work and skills.
I absolutely love this new history and geography corridor in school. It is full of artefacts, books and the children's work of the history and geography we cover through school. I love reading the enquiry questions as I walk through which makes me want to pick up the books and read to find the answers.
It was great to spend some time in the sunshine this morning with some of our amazing teaching assistants who have been preparing the sensory garden. I cannot wait to see their plans come to life as I know the children are going to love spending time in there.
YOUNG VOICES 2024
Wow... what an amazing night yet again at the YV concert with our absolutely incredible choir. It was fabulous to see them all singing and dancing from the moment they arrived to the end of the show. Their reaction when the lights go down as the show starts is the best magical experience ever and I know they are memories made for ever!
This could not happen without Mrs Green who certainly deserves a huge shout out!! Thank you from us for encouraging the love of music and singing and making these special memories happen.
ROSE LEARNING TRUST DODGEBALL COMPETITION - YEAR 3/4
Huge well done to our small but mighty team who represented us in the competition of over 70 pupils. They were amazing and came away in second place, narrowly losing in the final 2-1!
Fabulous team work and yet again represented our school superbly!
Amazing morning of sport last Friday when some of our children took part in the Panathlon Challenge at the Doncaster School for the Deaf, competing in curling, bowling and darts.
All the pupils showed great levels of determination which resulted with the children coming home as WINNERS!!!
They will now represent Doncaster in the South Yorkshire Finals in March. WOW!
Amazing achievement for them all - we can't wait to cheer them on in the finals!
Well done to all those who represented us!!
