Celebrating a quarter-century of service! IT Infrastructure Analyst Matt Callister started his first postgraduate job with us 25 years ago and remains a vital part of our Technology team. Matt had this to say on his time here:
'I finished my University Degree in Business IT at Huddersfield University and I managed to get a job in the IT Batch Operations Team running the Overnight Batches.
I was fresh out of University and straight into a great IT job at what was Scottish Provident International at the time.
The funny thing is that I am still sitting in virtually the same spot I started in 25 years ago!'
We let our inner kids out to play at this year's summer party! Taking place at the Fun Barn, this year's event included games like an adult bouncy castle, a raging bull, sumo suits, and more.
Charity Committee member Sadie Lightfoot was pleased to present Chris Gregory from Isle of Play with July's monthly donation. Isle of Play aim to fulfil every child's 'Right to Play'. They do this through organising various playground events, as well as the upkeep of their 'Forest School' helping children get in tune with nature through play. In total the charity received a total of £1271.25 from IFGL.
Congratulations to Jacqui Lowther, Fiona Cregeen, and Max Neale on successfully completing their ILM Level 3 Diplomas in Management.
Over the past 18 months they have demonstrated exceptional dedication and hard work, tackling 12 comprehensive written assignments on topics such as Managing Team Performance, Principles of Leadership & Management, and Encouraging Learning & Development.
Customer Service Director Steve Weston was pleased to present them with their certificates, recognising this impressive accomplishment.
We would like to congratulate our Front End Developer Jordan Webster on his 10 year anniversary with IFGL.
Jordan started working for RL360 when he moved to the Isle of Man as a graduate from the University of Huddersfield. As a vital member of our web team, Jordan ensures our websites are running as expected whilst updating and contributing to the development of new digital platforms as IFGL grows.
'I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already! When I started there were only 6 people in the team so it’s been great to watch the team grow, and as IFGL has got bigger the amount of websites has grown too. It’s always been a really good team here in marketing so that definitely makes a difference.’
Exams over? We are interested in hearing from school leavers looking to kick-start their professional career.
IFGL is a successful and fast-growing company with around 570 staff employed worldwide. With offices in Douglas and Castletown, we are one of the largest employers in the Isle of Man and represent a great opportunity for candidates looking to pursue a career in financial services.

We had lots of entries in our Port Erin Beach Festival quiz, but unfortunately we could only pick one winner.
That winner was... Charlotte Quinn! Charlotte chose a £100 M&S voucher which was collected by her boyfriend Andrew. Well done guys!

Last weekend saw the 61st edition of the annual Peel Viking Longboats Races, which IFGL has supported for over 25 years.
Despite the relentless rain, our Barbarians were not deterred. In fact, they went on to win the Insurance Cup! (Which may have been helped by the fact we were the only teams competing in that category...) 🌧🏆
But competing in this event isn't just about the bragging rights, it also helps raise money for charity. This year IFGL helped donate £3600 across 9 charitable causes around the Island.
IFGL's chosen charity for the month of June was Cruse Bereavement Support Isle of Man 💜
On top of our usual contributions from staff our charity committee also hosted a raffle, raising a final total of £1632.11.
Cruse Bereavement provides advice and support to those tackling grief. Volunteers kindly came in and gave a presentation to staff about the work they do and how to support someone in the workplace who may be struggling with bereavement.
Our ESG Steering Group announced the launch of IFGL's Staff Volunteering Scheme with charity partners Southern Befrienders and Isle of Man Live at Home Schemes. Now, staff on the Isle of Man will be able to sign up to volunteer in charitable events during working hours.
'We are proudly taking the first steps in IFGL’s volunteering journey,’ said Steve Weston, ESG Steering lead. ‘We have wanted to do this for a while and now that we have Exec approval and the involvement of two such deserving charities in Live At Home and Southern Befrienders, we can’t wait to see IFGL get involved in the wider community.’
Both charities help combat loneliness among the elderly through social activities and also aim to help them live independently in their own homes for as long as possible. To mark the beginning of this partnership we also made a donation of £2,500 towards each charity.
It was great to see so many faces at Port Erin Beach Festival on Saturday with Manx Radio. Although the sun refused to make an appearance the atmosphere was buzzing and many ice creams were consumed! 🍦

Our staff had a great morning supporting competitors at the Parish Walk on Saturday. Thank you to everyone that came by and said hello, we hope you aren’t hurting too badly still!
We kept sustainability in mind with our station. We provided fruit so that any waste could be deposited in our compost bins scattered around the course, and used Vegware compostable water cups supplied by MannVend ♻️
Just a few days to go until the Parish Walk! IFGL are proud Sustainability Partners of the event, and here's what that means in practice:
♻️ Recycling Bins - Around the course we have provided rubbish collection points with bins for recyclable goods, compostable goods, and general waste. This is to reduce the carbon footprint of the event.
🚐 Shuttle Bus Service - We will be running a shuttle bus service between The Bowl in Douglas and Derby Road in Peel, between 2-6pm. This is free to use for walkers and spectators, so consider leaving the cars at home.
🍊 Feed Station- Some of our staff will be stationed on the Glen Darragh Road in Marown to pass out some fruit, water, and support to our brave competitors, so make sure you come and say hello!
You may have noticed our website has a fresh new look! 💻📱
The site’s modern design leans heavily on imagery and video. It features detailed information about IFGL, its values and history, as well as information about our other brands.
‘It is a huge step forward for us,’ says Nigel Danzelman, IFGL’s Head of Marketing Services and Communications.
‘We believe it is a worthy introduction to the ever-growing world of IFGL and its brands.’
