The Write Angle
The Federation of Writers (Scotland) goes all Fringey, with their Fringe of the Fringe event.
Federation members rubbed shoulders with Fringe performers, and there were some truly memorable moments.

Shindigs Scottish Artspace
I am very pleased that Shindigs Scottish Artspace has been awarded a partial community You Decide grant by voters. We are partners with the Federation of Writers (Scotland) and the Scottish Book Trust for the event at Craigmillar Library on the 23 November from 17.30 until 19.30. Please bring along a poem between those hours and take part in the open mic. You can also submit your poem from now until the end of Book Week Scotland, midnight on the 27 November 2016. Free submission open to published and unpublished writers and spoken word poets. Possible to send in a 3 minute Film Poem for spoken word category. Shindigs Scottish Artspace in association with the Federation of Writers (Scotland) will hold a prize winning and open mic event on World Community Arts Day on the 17th February 2017 for the best poems in the East Neighbourhood Partnership areas. You can either live, volunteer, or have a connection or work in the areas to apply. Thank you to the people that voted at Portobello Town Hall, both children and adults. Also to the children at Craigmillar Library. The poem is about your neighbourhood. Any style. Any subject. Max.40 lines approx. Send to [email protected]. I will acknowledge receipt of your poem.
