Edinburgh Festival Fringe
01 - 25 August 2025
edfringe.com #edfringe Thousands of performers take to hundreds of stages all over Edinburgh to present shows for every taste.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is a world-renowned performing arts festival that takes place every August for three weeks in Edinburgh, Scotlandโs capital city. From big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, circus, cabaret, children's shows, musicals, opera, music, spoken word, exhibitions and events. In 2024, the Fringe will take place 02-26 August.
We support children and young people's right to access the arts. At the Fringe Society, we believe art isn't just a privilege โ it's a fundamental right protected by the UNCRC. Every child in Scotland deserves the chance to explore the arts, develop valuable skills and enhance their future employability, health and well-being. This benefits all of society.
Together, our voices are stronger. Each pledge makes our call for action louder and harder for decision-makers to ignore.

We've been asking artists and audiences this question throughout the month and this is one of our favourite responses, from Michael Johnson who was performing in Wish You Were Here at Greenside ๐

๐ญ And that's a wrap for our time at Edinburgh Festival Fringe Assembly Festival! Thank you to everyone who came along to see the show - we had a great time performing at the world's largest arts festival and can't wait to return again!
Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024 is complete! I performed in 71 shows and hosted 27 of those, beating my own personal record of shows per month.
A huge thank you to Majestic Fringe International for giving me this opportunity, and for supporting me over the last decade to be a better host and performer, I am forever grateful. ๐
A thank you to my colleagues who continually inspire me to be the best I can, by sharing tips of the trade and lighting the fire under me of self improvement.
And of course the biggest thank you to everyone who was in the audience. I am thankful that I get to do this as my job, and I couldnโt do it without you.
