PIlates: Sit to stand with Ease & the Beginnings of Squatting with Katy Bromberg this Saturday 29th May, 10-11am.
Both Online & we have five in-person spaces available at Central Studio 14a Broughton Street Lane, (socially distanced and ventilated of course)
The class works on being able to get up from standing with no groaning, using all your muscles well, and begins to go lower in to squats. Get rid of the need to groan when get up from sitting!
(if you have a current very active knee or hip issue, we suggest you do privates with us, not this class)

Facial release is such an important part of your physical maintenance, it allows you to expand your mobility and strength as well as increasing circulation.
We devote an hour a week to facial health and it's one of my favourite classes to teach! Always online, so you can wear your pyjamas if you want.
More fun on the foam roller!
Who loves the foam roller? Join Katy this Saturday, 29th August 10-11am online, for a fabulous class with the foam roller.
Katy will use it to get all your muscle groups working, your proprioception firing on all cylinders and to massage out that myofascia.

The white ones are perfectly servieable but will flatten sooner than the blue club core ones which should last your life time. Buy the full length 6 inch by 38 inch roller.

A pleasant afternoon by the river looking for skimming stones and improved foot mobility.
Killer Pilates (and Kipling) are reporting to you from exotic Peeblesshire this week. Come and see if I managed to squeeze enough Pilates equipment into my bag, and if the wi-fi is any match for nearly half a metre of stone wall.
I almost achieved Online Class Bingo this afternoon with an off-camera child meltdown and the cat being sick on camera!

Develop your floor-is-lava skills!
Balance is an incredibly useful skill to have that, once developed, can crossover and benefit many different pursuits. At times balance practice can be quite frustrating because it takes a while to develop, and the progress is incremental. It can be difficult to notice your improvement from one day to the next, but with persistence and time, you will really notice the difference.
In this skillset we have the standing balance variation. This can be done on curbs or low walls, and then progressed to rounded surfaces such as logs and rails for added difficulty.
