HER by Jennifer Adam is a vital and highly topical play.
Only yes means yes. HER is a play about the damaging effects of gender inequality, the truth about consent and asks, how can you be the change you want to see in the world, when you feel like the world is fighting against you?

🌈🌟 HER by Jennifer Adam 🌟🌈
Coming to Summerhall 8-10th October!
HIM and HER. They go way back. Pals since babies and totally inseparable. Until they weren’t. Loosely reconnecting at high school, they’re now 17 and barely recognise each other. What can guys and girls really have in common anyway? How could they possibly understand each other now? After everything that’s happened? He’s seen some things. And she’s about to. Now, they’ll need each other more than ever.
HER is a play about the damaging effects of gender inequality, the truth about consent and asks, how can you be the change you want to see in the world, when you feel like the world is fighting against you?
Following a successful run in 2023 Strange Town Touring Company are excited to revive this play which feels more relevant and vital than ever. The show is part of a series called the Future is Unwritten, issue-based plays that raise awareness, provoke discussion and stimulate debate.

The appalling scenes of violence that have taken place in the UK over the last ten days has often felt like we are living in another country from the one we hoped we were living in.
Strange Town has always and always will stand for kindness and inclusion. Everyone is welcome to join in, take part and enjoy. Strange Town will always strive to be a safe space for everyone.
Strange Town supports, encourages and enhances young people’s lives. At this challenging time for many young people Strange Town also offers support to parents and, through its touring company, to teachers and schools.
Strange Town utterly rejects the violence, racism, intolerance and hate that we have seen on the streets of the UK and stands with those who have been impacted by the recent events.
Always remember that there are more good people than bad in the world and that hate will never drive out love.

Last Friday, Strange Town members had a fantastic opportunity to work with members of The Showstoppers doing a workshop on improvised musical theatre!
After seeing a Fringe performance of Showstopper: The Improvised Musical on the Thursday night, some of our young people, aged 11-17, were naturally a bit trepidatious about the challenge of improvised singing that lay ahead the next morning!
However, all of them rose to the occasion and did outstandingly well! We were so proud of their efforts and their support for one another.
A big thank-you to The Showstoppers and to Fringe Days Out who helped organise this. Our members (and enthusiastic Strange Town staff members) all had a fantastic time!
You can catch Showstopper! The Improvised Musical at 5.30pm each day at Pleasance Courtyard until the end of the Fringe!
Happy US release day to the SEBASTIAN team! 🎬🌟🙌
The film, starring Ruaridh Mollica as lead role Sebastian/Max, is released at IFC Center in New York and Landmark Theatres in Los Angeles and San Francisco before expanding nationwide.
