🧡Slow Cooker Workshop 🧡
Another fantastic workshop all thanks to Chef Renu B . Thank you so much for giving up your time to share your skills with our members. We made a delicious meal on a budget with ingredients from the Pantry and members are now saying they will batch cook in their slow cooker and then freeze some of the portions. What do you like to make in your slow cooker?

We are very pleased to welcome one of our new volunteers, Corynne. She was fabulous on her very first day and got to meet some of our lovely members. Corynne said that she has been looking for volunteering opportunities for a while and when passing the Pantry one day, saw it was open and came in to find out more. 'I knew immediately that this was something I wanted to do as it felt like a great community space and had a nice vibe' We are happy you have come to join us and look forward to seeing you again 😀

Thank you so much to for the most amazing and interesting workshop on digestive health. It is such a minefield to understand but you helped us understand a little bit more and to take away strategies to try and put into place. This month we are looking for donations of tea and biscuits. After all who doesn't like a cuppa with a biscuit while watching all the current sport or your favourite show or sitting in the garden or just putting your feet up! We are very grateful for all donations we receive however small. A big thank you to all of you who have donated before we really do appreciate it.

Another successful workshop for our members run by Christians Against Poverty. Thank you so much to Julie for a great session where we all learnt so much about budgeting and how to make the most of our money. In these high cost times it is helpful to all of us to think about how we can save on different aspects of life. We are very lucky to have such wonderful people who give up their valuable time to help others. What helpful hints have you got?

We have lots and lots of tinned sardines in the Pantry at the moment! Do you like sardines and what would you do with them? Sardines on toast for a quick nutritious snack? This month we are particularly looking for the following items, tinned tuna and peanut butter but as always we really appreciate any donations you can make. We are so grateful for all your donations which make a huge difference to our members and cannot thank you enough. You may have heard of 'James and the Giant Peach' but this beats them all. Our wonderful volunteer Neil brought in a very large pumpkin, is this a record in the Pantry world? Thank you Neil for always allowing us to be creative and challenging us not waste anything!!!

Last week we celebrated two years since the soft launch of our Pantry before the official opening in July. A fabulous workshop learning how to grow veg, herbs and flowers! Thank you so much Maggie Rowell from Epsom rotary allotment! We all had a wonderful time which you can see from the before and after photos! 😜We love running our community sessions at the Pantry and are very grateful to all our generous supporters.

Thank you so much to the wonderful Jules and Neil who helped out the the Asda food drive on Sunday for Epsom and Ewell Foodbank and Epsom Pantry! One of our members Chris doing his weekly shop. He said 'I look forward to coming to the Pantry for the social interactions, not just the food' . Everyone involved with the Pantry, be it members, volunteers or staff all enjoy time spent together chatting, laughing and putting the world to rights, but also lending an ear if someone's week is not going so well.
