Thanks to kieran for updating this. When I moved to snap had just defended my wcbc heavyweight title after my 10th boxing bout- since decided enough is enough! - obv put "former" champ on it as actually - I feel like I don't need to pretend I'm doing more than I am just for the sake for business. CV speaks for itself 🙏🏽

I feel in any industry a between "formal" and "informal" education is vital. Solid 20+ years I'm sporting back ground and 10+ in the fitness industry and a coach - keeps my knowledge and client retention very high 🙏🏽

Thanks to everyone who's investing at the moment, work is by far, the best it's been. Owe that to snap as well - no egos - no drama - kierans been a very good egg as manager 🙏🏽👍

A real friend is a connection to life. A tie to the past, a road to the future, a key to sanity in a totally insane world.

Two people that have directly influenced me the most - for the great of good, in the past 3 years.

Everything I have - the direction, the focus, the accountability, an amazing life... filled with love, furbabies - holidays - absolutely smashing boxing after lockdown - being consistent keeping up with 3 well paid jobs ... able to be of MAXIMUM USE TO EVERYONE I WORK WITH - I owe to these two keeping me on the right path.

Want to qualify as a personal trainer?

Our current cohort of Level 3 Personal Training students have just completed their practical workshops… here’s an overview of what they will be doing next to qualify as a CIMSPA recognised Personal Trainer.

After our students have learnt an array of different skills, including:

• Instructing gym-based exercise
• Delivering specific warm ups and cool downs
• Programming gym programmes and personal training sessions
• Instructing advanced training methods - such as tri-sets, eccentric training, circuits and more
• How to use Kettlebells, TRX and Focus Pads
• and much more…

They can now apply these skills practically to a case study client, before qualifying and applying these exact same skills to their paying clients.

Our assessment structure matches the exact same process that our clients will use with all of their future clients. Ensuring our students enter the industry knowledgable and confident.

3 years - thinking of the incredible life we share together.

Another year means I've been lucky enough to experience another year of our love, & special moments together - holiday #9- 3 continents and metallica gig 2 & 3 this weekend!!!

Many special moments - knowing we will always be there for each other. Our love is the happiness and warmth you feel when you know you've found your best mate and soul mate all wrapped up in one person.

We are able to be weird around each other and be totally cool with that (taken some learning) and if I step out of line your there to literally beat me back into place 😂🙏🏽 we've waded through lots of bu****it, and always come out each time even stronger and even more in love ❤️

Didn't think I'd feel the way I do a few years ago. It's taken the right woman to make me want to have a family apart from fur babies - now we are engaged and looking forward to an amazing life together.

Thank you for everything you do for all of us.

Schools out!

Finished teaching level 3 PT course Sunday. Great group of students, as always love my work with . It's an honour to be able to give back and still look across socials with the dozens of successful Pts that have come through our system.

I'm grateful I'm able to play a part in helping people change the lives of others and pursue thier passions.

It's amazing when I see the guys come through in class - yes all have a passion for health and exercise - but by no means are they "super athletic" or "jacked" like so many think of "Pt stereotypes". They are just everyday people wanting to follow thier dreams. You don't not to be a "perfect model" physically and mentally like so many try to fake out on thier social media accounts.

We are all just human. I say just - we come with imperfections and in all different shapes and sizes, we all have a set of unqiue strengths and weakness - thats what makes us individuals. In 1/1 coaching its all about making a connection and building positive, trusting relationships with people. Inspiring them to progress - not perfection.

The point I'm making is if you want to become a PT... there is NOTHING STOPPING YOU from doing it. PUT IN THE WORK - AND YOU WILL GET THERE 3 things you need is KNOWLEDGE, PATIENCE and ENTHUSIASM.

I drop in on the practical workshops to the students even I've been to rehab myself back during covid days... ya know what I mean?!

We are all human! All experience is life experience ✨️
Being able to relate is a big part in helping people recover.

We are all able to change... make changes... grow... sometimes we just need the right fertiliser 😊

So if you think becoming a personal trainer is too far fetched for you. I promise you it's not. If you have an INTRINSIC DESIRE to help people - (money comes later on) you can make this work.

So if you have a dream and want to grow your own fitness business- let be your fertiliser and provide you with the tools you need to succeed in the industry 🙏🏽

Peeling back a bit now 👍

5kg down in 6 weeks - started training for next "extreme" marathon attempt with for fundraiser .

Only way to do it is to count and track kcals and be consistent - took me 2 or 3 weeks to adjust to being in around 2.7k kcals - was getting a bit chubs up at 114/5 kg just eating as much as i was when boxing just not moving as much 🤣

Moving more - eating less - having purpose and a time based end date for the marathon in Sept - really looking forward to a good summer training block, having fun and setting some records along the way 😊

Client calf appreciation...

I would say "buy my program" with these bad boys but as most know - genetics play a big role with calves... just like you'll often find curvy women that have never done a decent leg day advertising gym leggings - such is the nature of the superficial fitness marketing beast!

However- do not neglect training lower limbs!

The feet & ankles are probably one of the most neglected areas of the body when it comes to training.

Proprioception and basic balance will vastly be improved by getting stronger in this area. The role of soleus is to help stabilise - not just ankles but up into the knee joint too.

I frequently use bosus - get guys to do isometric toe holds - weird old walks and heels/ toes & add in plyometrics - some sort of jumping/ bounding of hopping to improve the efficency of the tendon stiffness in lower limbs.

In terms of calf work just single leg body weight raises with slow tempo are a great place to start. Try 10 singles each leg with 1 sec hold at top into 10 doubles. Rest and repeat 3 x and you'll be surprised at the intensity of that lil gimmick.

I'm head tutor of performance training academy and will be running practical workshops starting later this summer in Exeter (if summer turns up 😂)

We have qualified so many trainers in the area who are now doing great things in the industry. The program have been tailored over the last few years to give relevant inside info you won't learn on other basic PT courses.

If you want to get set up with the best possible start, taught how to coach in person properly (don't get how people qualify online without doing any coaching- I'm sure many PTs get this). I'll be passing on as much as I can to this group over 5 full day practical workshops along side our amazing online learner platform.

Anyone looking to get on this round of courses - could be qualified by late September- you also have a choice to study at your own pace along side the workshops (if lifes busy).

Highlight of my day today.

A winters work coming to fruition, able to go out and enjoy the sunshine and walk with Big Al.

Great to see him enjoy his first proper walk outdoors in a long time. Actually blew away my expectations and tolerated it so well.

Such a thing so many of us take for granted - but highlights the importance of staying strong as we age so we can enjoy the basic things in life.

Remember the best place to invest for your future is your body- without health we have nothing. Stay mobile - train for strength- keep moving 🙏🏽❤️

The body that gets you a wwe contract 👀

Had this memory pop up - 10 years ago today I went through a 2 day wwe tryout at the o2 in london.

Living in London- didn't really have mates or a social life.

Wake up - am pts - lift - go home sleep- back to gym to do cv in the PM and then do evening PTs....

Rinse and repeat day after day. I was actually training to throw discus at the time - I'd won the senior regionals in my first year back after finishing up playing rugby at Bath uni. I threw 57m in training that winter 64m is Olympic qualifying - its "in training" I know much different but I was obsessing and grinding and visualising daily.

Hours of gruelling workouts and then interviews on camera - little did I know I'd be planning to move to florida shortly after.... with the money involved in athletics - and the nostalgia involved with WWE - a full time wage and just a "slight" charge in weather on Orlando.... who could say no 🤣

Truly a case of working hard and being in the right place at the right time - this opportunity came from no where for me and I was just "ready and equipped" on the day.

From this experience I learnt - as long as your working hard, opportunities will come to you. You never know what's around the corner so don't give up. 🙏🏽

I got up this am went downstairs and watched rocky sleep on the couch for 5mins - without a single thought going through my mind- nothing - absolute silence. 💯 something money can't buy... peace of mind.

Most people look for the quick fixes to change the way they feel - and most people try and THINK their way into better ACTING.... point and case this week- I've taken some ACTION which has helped change my THINKING. Thus made me feel pretty damn good.

Superficial & material fixes are short lived - doesn't matter what your physical house looks like - your head is your REAL home - make sure your looking after yourselves out there, ESPECIALLY IF YOUR SELF EMPLOYED LIKE ME- know - sometimes REST IS BEST 🙏🏽❤️

ITS HARD TO SHOW HOW GOOD YOU ARE ON INSTA WHEN YOU MAKE PEOPLE "FEEL BETTER" AND REDUCE ACHES AND PAINS - COMPARED TO "12 WEEK CHALLANGE - CALORIE DEFICIT" MENTALITY.... (can i get a hell yea?!)

You used to be able to just be good @ your job - (coaching) now you just need a good video editor - some people wanting to starve themselves for ya - and thats your starter pack - A LOT OF ONLINE COACHES DONT EVEN HAVE A LEVEL 3 PT - YET ALONE A DEGREE!!!

ANYWAY... digress....

Weve come a long way since knee surgery - crutches and brace this time last year. Since then hes become the strongest hes ever been in his life (primed @ 50+) (sorry nige 🤣😘)

Its rare to get guys in the gym 5 days a week - week in week out. Makes me look like a good trainer when they do - another example was jordans sub 3hr marathon last weekend. 1 session a week with me 100% DOES NOT make that happen. Its what you do with the other 167 hours a week. Nige trains 5 days a week no matter how he feels...

Leaner, stronger, setting small goals and working towards them - he does all the work - i just tell him what to do.

You Vs you.

Very proud of this young mans progress. I set him challenges in the gym and he never backs down.

At this point he had 3 mins of intervals left and just saw him in the zone - had to capture the moment.

Felt great to see on a human level - a while ago it would have been too much (which is fine!!!) He found that extra gear today - having that connection, and seeing that click for al just really buzzed me. PROGRESS. LOCKED IN 💯🙏🏻

The transformation i have seen in the past 12 months is unreal. Ive been told the confidence hes gained from strength training has transferred into the rest of his life.... and thats another pay day for me right there.

Bloody love my job. Great energy in the gym this week and well done to all my clients putting the work in 🙏🏻💯
