Glasgow ARM is a charity based at the University of Glasgow, we work to reduce hardship for healthcare students at the University of Rwanda.
Glasgow ARM was created as a joint student-staff collaboration at the University of Glasgow. It was formed in response to a staff member (Professor Phil Cotton) working on sabbatical at the University of Rwanda. A number of students at the university were approaching him as Principal of the College, intending to drop out of their studies for reasons of financial hardship. A fund was set up at the
BAKE SALE: Tomorrow from 10am to 2pm we will be holding a bake sale to raise funds for Rwandan health care students. If you want to support the cause, or just fancy a tasty snack during exam revision we will be outside the main library.
There are lots of ways you can get involved with Glasgow ARM, and we don't just need MVLS students. Look out for our trustees election in May, or consider volunteering with our student group Students for Rwandan Medics.
Happy to say we're still getting donations to the Main Library. We've taken the box away now, but we accept laptops throughout the year at the Wolfson Medical School Building.
Trustees Fergus and Pat recently visited the bank and transferred new donations to the Student Endowment Fund, which supports students with accommodation, living costs and academic resources. You can find out more about the SEF and why it's so important, here..

Many congratulations to Ruairí, Irene, Susannah, and Lily who all ran for Glasgow ARM at last month’s Edinburgh Marathon.
In total they managed to raise nearly £600 - an incredible achievement. The donation page for their event has now closed, however anyone who would like to do so can still donate using the button above.
The money they’ve raised together will have a lasting impact for students at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences in Rwanda, and so we’d like to extend a big thank you to all of their supporters.
Ruairi told us, “we were really happy to be able to support this great charity” and would “highly recommend fundraising for ARM in the future as the charity continues to grow”.
We hope you all had a fantastic time in the sun, and thank you again to everyone that came out to support them.
Best of luck to Ruairí, Susannah, Rose and Lily - who are all running in Edinburgh this weekend! Hope the sun is shining for you!
