in 1887 the club was founded by Irish Marist Brother Walfrid to feed the poor in Glasgow’s east end, moving to Parkhead in 1892.
On 28th May 1888, Celtic played their first official match against Rangers and won 5-2.
Another fantastic Thursday here at Hampden Park hosting our Football Memories group, who enjoyed a talk from football historian and author John Litster, on '60 years of Scottish Football.'
Regional coordinator for Football Memories, Robert Harvey, presents John with a cap in thanks for his work in football and for the group.
Cammy Murray also donated a wonderful scrapbook curated on the golden era of Scottish football, which he has kindly donated to the group.
