Four new drams never seen before on our gantry...

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Daftmill 2010 is made from a combination of 25 first fill ex-bourbon casks and was brewed using the, relatively new (2010), Publican strain of spring barley. Daftmill is a true farm distillery that only releases a very limited number of bottles each year and this is the first time any have graced the shelves of our lovely gantry. Bottled @46%

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Ballindolloch's 2015 is this Speyside distillery's first core UK release, brewed with barley grown on the estate and using a traditional wormtub condenser. It is a 80/20 mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks all matured for a minimum of 8years. Bottled @46%

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Ballechin 12 is a single cask, peated malt from Scotland's smallest single malt distillery, Edradour. It has been fully matured in an oloroso sherry cask. Bottled @58.4%

🇯🇵Nikka From The Barrel is a combination of both malt and grain whiskies, blended and left to marry for 3-6 months. Expect a big, bold and full bodied dram. Bottled @51.4%

Our gantry is bursting with new spirits this week...

🥃Ardnamurcan 2018 The George Hotel Exclusive. Distilled from unpeated, bready, Golden Promise barley and filled straight into a first fill Oloroso sherry butt. Bottled @57.8%

🥃Deanston 2007 15 year old, matured for 13 years in traditional hogshead and finished for 24 months in mature Jalisco Tequila casks. Bottled @52.5%

Two new and one great back in...

🥃Glenallachie 10 year old Cask Strength is matured in a variety of Pedro Ximenez, Oloroso, red wine and virgin oak casks carefully selected by Billy Walker. I'm not sure if I've ever tasted full cask strength this smooth before. Bottled @59.4%

🥃Holyrood's 3rd release, Amber, uses a combination of heritage barley and flavoursome, amber, brewing focused barley to provide the warm malt character of this whisky. 90% finished in first fill bourbon casks and the remainder in Spanish sherry casks. Bottled @49.8%

🥃Glenallachie 12 Sauternes is a sweet and fruity limited run single malt from the experts in Speyside. Bottled @48%

 
 

New on the gantry this week...

🥃Thompson Bros Benrinnes 12 year old, re-racked into two refill Pedro Ximenez quarter casks for 18 months. Bottled @52.7%

🥃Berry Bros & Rudd 2011 Caol Ila 13 year old, finished for 24 months in a single Moscatel hogshead. Bottled @55.2%

🥃Thompson Bros Aultmore 14 year old, finished in two ex-rye casks and an oloroso octave. Bottled @48.5%

Now for something a little different...

🌵El Rayo Reposado Tequila is rested in ex-bourbon casks for 7 months giving it a smooth honeyed vanilla flavour with a touch of gentle spice. Bottled @40%

🌵Pensador Espadín Mezcal is a small batch, father and son made mezcal offering soft smokiness, a silky minerally body and a green pepper and jalapeño finish. Bottled @47.5%

🥃Na Bràithrean-Big Brother-Miltonduff 10 year old, matured for 9 years in Bourbon hogshead before being finished in two Oloroso quarter casks for an additional year. Bottled @55%

🥃Na Bràithrean-Wee Brother-Miltonduff 10 year old, matured for 9 years in Bourbon hogshead before being finished in a Medeira barrique for an additional year. Bottled @55%

🥃Uncharted-Bowie-Ben Nevis (unpeated) 11year old, matured in ex-bourbon and finished in first fill Ruby port cask. Bottled @50%

🥃Uncharted-A girl like you-Old North British 34 year old single grain. Bottled @45.7% (which is its natural cask strength after 34 years!)

🥃Glaschu Spirits Co.-Burnside 12 year old has an interesting story. 99.9% was distilled near Balvenie castle 😏and one teaspoons worth was distilled in the Fiddich valley🤔 This cask was matured for 10+ years in ex-bourbon hogshead before being finished for 18 months in a first fill Amarone cask. Bottled @50%

🥃Glaschu Spirits Co.-Havelock Series edition 2 is a 15 year old ex-bourbon matured Islay single cask from an unnamed distillery (It's Laphroaig!). Bottled @50%

🥃Arran Signature series edition 1 is a limited run batch matured in sherry hogshead, sherry butt and bourbon casks and bottled @46%

🥃Torabhaig Allt Gleann Legacy Series 2nd Release, from the Isle of Skye is slightly peaty (17ppm), matured in both first and refill bourbon casks and bottled @46%

🥃Bladnoch Alinta is a big oily, heavily peated (55ppm) lowland matured in a combination of sweet Pedro Ximenez and bourbon casks and bottled @47%

This limited run whisky was matured for all 13 years in ex-port pipes and is bottled at 53.2%

🥃Raasay Dùn Cana is matured in Rye casks and finished in Oloroso and PX quarter casks. Bottled @ 52%

🥃Glenglassaugh Portsoy is heavily peated, matured and finished in a combination of bourbon, oloroso and port casks. Bottled @ 49.1%

We are very excited to have our first ever beer from Glasgow brewery Epochal now pouring at The Ben Nevis. Epochal are a super interesting brewery that specialises in oak fermentation with this example, Canceller of Gravitation, brewed with Scottish barley, Simcoe hops and showcasing beautiful crisp funky notes from it's secondary fermentation in barrel with brettanomyces. This is a pale ale like no other you've tried recently!
