Car update!

Our monocoque team is working really hard doing some practical work on testing and improving the assembly of Clyde 3.0 in preparation for the upcoming track day and competition this year!

Let’s take a look at USEV’s Track Day 2022! We held a track day sponsored by Arnold Clark that took place on the 18th of November 2022 at the Arnold Innovation Centre. This was a great opportunity to test out the car in preparation for the upcoming Shell Eco Marathon this year. We had a chance to test assembly, brakes, steering, and our electronic systems. It gave us a great insight into what to improve for the competition later this year.

ALERT ‼️ USEV Merch is here! We currently have our T-shirts and our rulers available in person, but there is other options as well! Options include a T-shirt, fleece, soft shell jacket, zip hoodie, a pullover hoodie and a polo but there are also other accessories available for purchase. How to order? We can now announce track day, sponsored by Arnold Clark, will be on Friday 18th November!

Time: 9:30am-4pm
Venue: Arnold Clark Innovation Centre

This will be a great opportunity to test out the car in preparation for the !

Our week kicked off with a great social with our other engineering societies at ! We all had a great night socialising after working hard this semester 🍻
Our marketing team have been working on updating our new website which will be ready very soon - stay tuned!!
In terms of car progress, our 2 year goal is well underway. With Clyde 3 getting finalised and our new members getting started on Clyde 4, the is well within our reach - very exciting times here at USEV 🏎🍃

This week at USEV…
Each of our subteams have held meetings to kick off their first projects! A very exciting week getting started with plans for our brand new car, Clyde 4!
Our board also delivered a recruitment talk to our EEE and CES students. We loved speaking to you all and hope to see you in the lab this week!
The marketing team have been working hard alongside the board to design our brand new uniform, which will be available for all members to purchase in the coming weeks!

This week saw the formation of our new sub-teams - we can’t wait for everyone to get involved!
New members have been assigned tasks and we are now well on our way to successfully achieving our two year goal 🏆
Our sub-teams have had their first team meetings - a great way for everyone to get to know each other and get started! 🏎🍃

This week at USEV we hosted our new member introduction session. We saw an amazing turnout - thank you to everyone who came along! We hope you all had a great time 🔧
This was then followed by a tour of our USEV lab, which is available for use by all members.
Finally, we saw our new members sign-up for their chosen sub-teams. The uptake in membership has been great and we can’t wait for you all to get started on Clyde 4!

A lighter start to the week, with members of the USEV team getting involved in the hunt! 🐥

On Wednesday, the USEV team had fun recruiting new members at Freshers Fair - thank you to everyone who came along to visit our stall, it was great to meet you all! This was followed by the MAE Meet the Societies event where we got the opportunity to tell new members a bit more about ourselves. After all this hard work, the USEV team headed along to the Meet the Societies social for a well-deserved drink! 🍻

Throughout Fresher’s week we have also seen the rebrand of our Instagram page, with a focus on audience engagement and eye-catching design.
