☀️MEET THE SUNSHINE ON LEITH PT☀️

Michael Devine (he/him) - Director

Freshly graduated from Glasgow University, Michael couldn't resist returning to his favourite society as director of the Cecilian Society's Sunshine on Leith! In his last year, he's bittersweet about saying goodbye but delighted to have spent it directing such a brilliant group. Michael is incredibly proud to showcase the talented members of this production. Directing his first show has been a whirlwind of new creative experiences, but above all, he's been blown away by how the cast and crew have brought this heartwarming and heart-wrenching story to life!

☀️MEET THE SUNSHINE ON LEITH PT☀️

Natasha Brown (she/her) - Assistant Director

This is Natasha’s fifth year with the Cecilians and she is very excited to be the Assistant Director of this fantastic show!! After spending last year as Treasurer she has found a new way to get people to listen to her and speak with some air of authority. When she isn’t acting chaotic with her fellow ASSistants or rambling with chorus members she can be found being the resident (almost) Edinburgh-donian PT member. She is ecstatic that after her past five Cecilian shows needing an American accent she can finally embrace (and help others embrace) the Scottish accent. Balancing the show with her Masters degree has been hectic at points but she couldn’t be more proud of the work that her and her fellow PT members have done. She hopes you laugh, cry but most importantly enjoy Sunshine on Leith! ☀️

☀️MEET THE SUNSHINE ON LEITH PT☀️

Anne Hornman (she/her) - Musical Director

Anne is beyond excited to finish her Cecilians journey by being musical director for Sunshine on Leith. She’s the least scottish person ever (as a Dutch girl who grew up all over Europe) and many of the accents and quips in the show confuse her, but she loves the music and can’t wait to conduct the show! When she’s not with Cecilians you can find her conducting one of the many musical ensembles she leads, or locked in the library working away at her undergrad dissertation in music.

Photos from The Cecilian Society's post 07/03/2024

☀️MEET THE SUNSHINE ON LEITH PT☀️

Bee Regan (she/her) - Assistant Musical Director

Going into the Second year of her Cecilian experience having had the best time in Footloose and HSM, Bee really took the opportunity to get stuck in this year, taking on the roles of both Stech and Assistant MD! Having always loved Musical Theatre (throwback to her childhood watching Disney Channel Original Movies), she’s super grateful to Anne and the rest of the PT for giving her the opportunity to live out her childhood dreams of being like Kelsi from High School Musical (real ones know she’s the best character.) When she’s not learning music, causing chaos with her fellow assistants or running off to shed in the break, you might be able to spot her being stressed in the corner over various lab reports for her zoology degree! Bee would like to thank her boss Anne for putting up with her constant questions, her fellow ASSistants for always matching her chaotic energy, her friends for listening to her constant voice notes and of course the whole cast and crew for consistently slaying! Show week can’t come fast enough as she’s excited for chaotic bus rides to the theatre (we love the x19) and the inevitable cursed energy that very little sleep brings! See you in Leith!

☀️MEET THE SUNSHINE ON LEITH PT☀️

Anna Bulloch (she/her) - Choreographer

Anna has been in Cecilians since their iconic Zoom year and she thought what better way to finish off her time with the society than to choreograph Sunshine on Leith. Despite being a Geordie, Anna has fully embraced the Scottishness of Sunshine on Leith and she can’t wait for everyone to see the dances she’s created - she’s even made a ceilidh for the show! For Anna, dance is EVERYTHING so outside of rehearsals you can find her doing even more dancing and choreographing with GSDC. She can also be found analysing how weird MyAI is for her dissertation (trust her it’s weird). She has loved choreographing and teaching for the cast and she’s beyond buzzing to see them smash it on stage ❤️

Photos from The Cecilian Society's post 06/03/2024

☀️MEET THE SUNSHINE ON LEITH PT☀️

Felicia Danielsson (she/her) - Assistant Choreographer

After almost 5 years of living in Scotland, Felicia figured rounding off her time in Cecilians with a proper Scottish classic was a no-brainer. After getting “infected” in Cry-Baby as a chorus member and “kicking off her Sunday shoes” as a specialist in Footloose, this year she decided to take a crack at choreographing under the fabulous tutelage of Miss Anna Bulloch! She wants to thank Anna and her fellow assistants Bee and Natasha for the unwavering support and abundance of goofy break-time dance parties at rehearsal gilding her year. She can’t wait for you to see all the hard work the PT and chorus have put in together come to fruition on the Platform stage, so get yourself a ticket to Leith! ☀️

☀️MEET THE SUNSHINE ON LEITH PT☀️

Fleur Smith (she/her) - Stage Manager

Fleur is so excited to be extending her PT streak by donning the Stage Manager hat once again for Sunshine On Leith! After joining committee and weekend show PT for her third year, she has been Cecilian-ing nonstop and now couldn’t be happier with this wonderful show. She has mastered the art of balancing her psych/soc degree alongside Cecilians and promises that her dancing in the wings will be just as chaotic as last years. She hopes everyone is excited to be On Their Way to sunny Leith and that it Makes Their Hearts Fly as much as hers!

Photos from The Cecilian Society's post 05/03/2024

☀️MEET THE SUNSHINE ON LEITH PT☀️

Calum Woods (he/him) - Tech Director

It’s Calum’s first time in PT and what a ride he’s been through so far! After taking on the role of Assistant Tech Director last semester, he couldn’t be more excited to continue on as Tech Director for the rest of the year! With it being his third year as a computing science student he’s giving it his best to help the rest of PT and work with the techies to provide the society with the lovely pieces of set and props they have been making through the year. He is also eager to live up to the legacy his dad left when leaving the society in 92’ as Vice President… that is when has not coding, gaming and busting a move in HIVE.

Photos from The Cecilian Society's post 05/03/2024

☀️MEET THE SUNSHINE ON LEITH PT☀️

Maeve Lippmann (she/her) - Assistant Stage Manager

Maeve is in her 1st year of Cecilians and Uni and is so excited to be Assistant Stage Manager as well as glad to spend so much time with all of the wonderful people of tech. She appreciates any excuse to cover things in paint and is waiting for the day they let her use power tools unchaperoned (which will be soon, she is sure). Maeve appreciates everyone in the society who has been so welcoming and is looking forward to helping put on an amazing show! 🙂

We're back with some more charity ticket information!

This year, we will be supporting 4 different charities through charity tickets. The charities are;

- Maggie's which is a charity that runs drop in centres across the UK for those who have been affected by a cancer diagnosis
- Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity who fundraise so that every child, young person, and their families can retrieve the care that they deserve
- Refuweegee which is a community-led charity that gives people a way to welcome and embrace those newest to arrive
- FARE Scotland who work within disadvantaged communities throughout Central Scotland

So, by purchasing a charity ticket you will be giving someone from one of these charities the opportunity to come and see the show!

If you are interested in buying a ticket please email Tilly at [email protected] 😊

We are very excited to announce that you are now able to purchase charity tickets for our upcoming performance of Sunshine on Leith.

Charity tickets are tickets that can be purchased by anyone who is unable to attend the show (or alongside your other tickets if you’re feeling generous), which gives the opportunity for someone to come and enjoy the show who would not otherwise have been able to. We work with charities across Glasgow, including Maggie’s Cancer Centre and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, alongside others.

The charity tickets will be £13.50 and if you would like to purchase one, we are asking that you transfer your donation to our bank account. To organise this, can you please email our Vice President, Tilly Bird, at [email protected] and she will send you the correct information to do so. From there we will coordinate the booking of your tickets and distribute them to the charities that we work with 💕
