Nordic Walk in beautiful Essex and Herts country side. An inclusive sport for fitness and wellbeing!
Good morning all.
Apologies for recent absence. Unfortunately I am dealing with a family crisis that means my time is being utilised elsewhere.
It's becoming increasingly clear that this is going to be a longer term situation than previously anticipated, so I will have to put walks on hold for a longer period.
The current Chakra Sessions are being covered, but any other classes, 1-1s and small groups will be back in the, hopefully, not too distant future.
I appreciate your understanding in this matter, and wish you all happy walking. Please continue to make your steps count 💫
Much love
Sara Evans

Views from what felt like the bottom of the world, to the top. A hidden cottage, and my nemesis.... the rocks where my running career came to an untimely end 💫
Also felt like I walked through at least 3 different seasons with sun, rain, hail and high winds 😁
Refreshed, revitalised, rejuvenated 💕
Last night we trialled another of the 10-12k routes for the forthcoming Tuesday Travels walks, which commence on 25th July.
We started with a rainbow, and found many pots of gold on our route. New born foals, picturesque cottages, beautiful established trees, miles of cycle tracks (without potholes), and developing friendships 💕
An evening well spent brought a sleep of content.
New timetable coming soon for the summer holiday period 💫
Lots of laughs at Claire's penultimate lesson today. We attempted the advanced techniques, which brought a lot of hilarity.
As expected, Claire mastered them like a boss after practise. Next week we are taking to the fields with the knowledge of the past 6 weeks to help us make each step count.
Always a pleasure to spend this time grounding with Claire Evans 💕
We will be back at this Monday afternoon slot after the school holidays. All welcome 💫
Today's walk took us away from the fields and back to the 16th, 17th and 18th century.
Harlow is recorded in the doomsday records as having 50 residents spread around Mulberry, Matching, Hunsden and Pishiobury.
We wandered past some Alms houses, a legacy of Francis Reeve, to more recent affordable housing built in 1910 by the Oddfellows taking in various points of interest along the way. Ended up at the oldest chapel dating back to 1150, before a leisurely stroll back to more modern times.
These blue plaques were highlighted during the walk with much to discuss about the people who inspired them 💕
Next week we will enjoy some teaching before heading out to the meadows for a butterfly watch 🦋
Please DM to book 💫
Took a different sort of pole out for a walk today, and did some litter picking with Churchgate Street Residents' Association and Cllr Joel Charles
It was lovely to do something for the community where we live. A great turn out of local support for the area, and many bags collected 🌟
Tomorrows Sunday Strollers are meeting at Mill Lane park 9 am for a historical stroll 💕
Please message if you would like to join us 🌟
Don't forget to pick up your loyalty card 😁
Beautiful impromptu wander with these two tonight.
Lots of information shared and laughter. Many historical local sites, and amazement at places we didn't know existed. You definitely get a different view of the area on two legs instead of behind a wheel 😁
Thoroughly refreshing way to spend a midweek evening 💕
If you go down to the woods today.... well we did. And it was glorious 🌳
Feeling the heartbeat of the tree, swaying in the wind. The rain making a quick appearance. Feeling our glutes activate, and our shoulders helping to power us up the hills.
Week 4 for Claire and we are making amazing progress. Time to get to grips with the final 3 techniques of Nordic Walking next week 💕
We have new ways to join in 😁
Ask for a loyalty card if you are PAYG. Pay for 9 walks and get the 10th free, or
Buy 6 walks up front and get the 7th free!
These offers apply on Get Nordic Walking classes, but not the current Chakra Sessions series which is FULL 💫
All classes remain at £5. Look for updates as a Summer Holiday timetable will be introduced soon 💕
Beautiful evening stroll around the Town Park with walkers old and new 😁
There's something magical about walking this gorgeously ancient park, which covers 160 acres and is a Grade II listed site.
So much to see and marvel over. So many varieties of greenery and wildlife. All taken care of religiously by many volunteers for whom we have much to be grateful for. Plus it is the home of my very favourite tree 💕
A variety of terrains and hills leads to an incredibly satisfying workout.
Today's Sunday Strollers took a more leisurely walk across fields, paths and over a little stream to wet our hot feet (me), stepping stones for others 💕
Lots of chat about local history, South African culture, butterflies and local foraging 🍄🌱
Next week we are planning a butterfly spotting hunt 🦋
Please message to book. All abilities catered for 💫
Beautiful Sarah's dad won a Nordic Walking voucher at a local event where we were raising money for Harlow Mixed Ability Rugby
He kindly gifted it to Sarah, and she began her nordic walking journey today 💕
Sarah quickly got to grips with her new walking style, and I watched and encouraged as her posture and confidence with the power poles increased. Looking forward to walking with Sarah again soon 💫
Please let me know if you have a local fundraising event coming up, as I am often happy to donate a voucher for a session of nordic walking 😁
Tough day at the office 😍
Last night started this series of The Chakra Sessions where we looked at our root chakra.
Muladhara, located at the base of the spine, is red in colour and relates to safety, stability and security. What better way to start working on rolling our feet, our posture and feeling our own roots connect to the earth ❤
Yasmin was the winner of the bean bag challenge, showing us how to balance while standing up tall and straight. A complete loop of the field without one drop 🌟

Beautiful 10k today with lovely Linda who prefers a longer walk 💕
We stuck to cycle paths, took a trip around old haunts, found some very interesting buildings, and said hi to some geese.
It was lovely to be out in a refreshing, post rain climate where we could breath deeply. Shoulders are on fire, but we took time to do some deep stretches before planning next weeks route 😁
Good morning 😁
It's said that it takes 20 times seeing something before it breaks into your consciousness. I'm not going to share this 20 times, but here's a reminder of Sunday evenings workshop 💕
Open to walkers old and new. Refresh your technique, or learn a new skill. Take in the beautiful surroundings, and connect with nature and your core 🧘♀️
Please make sure you drop me a message to book. There is a short form to complete before you start your new adventure. Poles are supplied.
Look forward to seeing you 🌟

The intrepid Sunday Strollers took all the different terrains like champs today 😁
Hills, dry fields, cool woods, gravel and path. We stopped to admire the trees and some even had a hug.
A 5k that the heat made feel much further, we took on plenty of water breaks, and took time to feel the breeze 💕
Today we worked on engaging our glutes, our core, and pushing through our power poles for that upper body strength. Wonderful morning with incredible people 🌟
Don't forget next Sunday we have an additional evening workshop to learn some of the nordic walking techniques, at Harlow Town Park. Please email to book 💫
Saturday morning 1-1 💕
Something special about getting out when it feels like the rest of the world is snoozing.
Off the beaten track today where we found this fallen tree, that continues to support the life around it. Enjoying the shade, the moisture in the air of the wood, and the different tastes on our tongue, before heading back out to the fields for the home stretch.
A gentle 6k, lifting each other up, chatting, friendship and laughter 💫
Beautiful, smiley Claire Evans from The Centre of Wellbeing CIC taking a well earned stretch and recalibrate under a very special fairy tree 🌳
This tree provides a lovely circle of mushrooms every autumn, and has a very special place in my heart 💕
Claire brought a copy of her book 'The Yellow Book' which I am looking forward to consuming this weekend. For more details about her many courses and publications, please contact Claire directly 💫
Good morning 😁
Today let's look at another couple of Nordic Walking techniques you can bring into your general walks, to improve output and support your physicality 💕
Rotate
When nordic walking we relax and rotate our shoulders, swinging our arms by our sides, never higher than our navel. Using opposite arms and legs, bringing in a rotation in the upper body really helps lubricate the lower spine. This is really important, especially as you get older, to keep your back healthy 💕
Think swagger 😁
Breath
Taking deep breaths in through our nose and out through our mouth. We purposefully breath into the diaphragm, the area between our ribs. The diaphragm is a muscle and needs regular exercise too 💕
Have a try next time you go out for a stroll and see what you think 💫
This is lovely Linda.
Linda has 12 years Nordic Walking experience, and I was lucky enough to join her on a beautiful walk today. Linda is sharing her vast knowledge of local routes, and some further afield, with me.
I have been incredibly blessed with so much support since I started my Nordic Walking journey, and with Linda's help (among many others), can now bring many more routes to the schedule 💕
Looking forward to many more exploratory walks with Linda 🌟
I love running these workshops. Sharing something I am passionate about, that has boosted my overall wellbeing so much 💕

As part of our training for our September challenges, today Lorraine and I went on a pacer walk.
These 9 am Monday mornings are a great start to the week, and we even had time to stop for this beautiful heart shaped leaf 💕
These are impromptu walks, but please feel free to drop me a message if you would like to join us anytime 🥰
That's how we stroll....
Today we walked down to Gibberd Garden keeping to the shade as much as possible.
We then took some time for drills to ensure we really work from our shoulders, keeping our arms straight and our posture tall.
Much hilarity ensued as we trotted around the field like little ponies, and a dog came over to check out our antics 😁
Lots of fun in the sun at this mornings Fathers Day walk ☀️
So very grateful for these Saturday morning 1-1s. Time to get out and reflect on the week thus far 💕
Today we fulfilled a bucket list wish of standing on a motorway bridge (with a cheeky toot from a lorry driver), over the fields and into the woods to ground our toes in the earth and recentre. Even spotted a little frog for a chat 🐸
Beautiful nature, giving so much to so many. Connecting, grounding, focusing, meditating, growing 💫
Thank you Kelly for this time we take to just be 💕
