Work has been tough, mentally and emotionally draining, you’re fatigued, you’ve been working all the hours and at a high intensity. Just a few more weeks until you can not think about work and you can relax. All the issues and annoyances that have been bubbling for weeks if not months will go away…🙏

WRONG … 💥‼️

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but those issues unless addressed will be there in January. The festive break will provide you a respite and you’ll be feeling better but I guarantee that those issues and the same feelings you are feeling now will be back sooner than you think.

I know this because I used to think the exact same way.

However I can HELP you navigate and unpack how you are feeling. We can work together to create a strategy to address the issues and solve them together.

Lets start from the beginning you’ve been consistent at;
- overworking
- not prioritizing yourself
- leaky boundaries or lack of
- lack of routine
To be honest I could go on. But you’ve been consistently doing (insert from the above) for a long period of time so why do you expect a quick fix to break the cycle you are in?

It takes consistency and determination to want that change.

💥I am looking for 3 women who want to BREAK this cycle. This is for the women who:

✅ are DONE feeling overwhelmed, stuck and just fed up

✅ are ready to truly invest in themselves

✅ are ready to break the cycle

✅ are committed to making a change and having the work / life balance they’ve dreamed off

✅ are ready to step up and own their authenticity

❌ you aren’t prepared to work for it

I could have done with this a few years ago…

I get that the new year is deemed a fresh start but if you are just about hanging on until the end of the year or in a state of overwhelm then those ‘new year’ posts aren’t going to be helpful.

You’d tell them to walk away.

So why would you stay in a job that’s treating you exactly the same way… 💥

Unfortunately if you’ve been waiting for things to change the truth is they’re unlikely too. So maybe it’s time to move on 💥

It is SO possible to recover from burnout.

Whilst it may not happen overnight it will happen.

Recovery takes time because burnout takes time so we can’t expect a quick recovery.

Recovery looks different for everyone but here are some QUICK actions to take:

💥 talk to someone / ask for help
💥 rest
💥 practice self compassion
💥 pay attention to your needs
💥 do things that make you happy

Reminder for us all.

💥For the times when we think we aren’t good enough
💥For the times when we think we should be further ahead in our careers
💥For the times when things haven’t happened the way we planned it
💥For all the times we feel like we have failed…

We feel the pressure of society every day so let’s be kinder to ourselves when we are doing the best we can.

Remember you are enough and don’t let anyone tell you or make you feel otherwise 💕

You are working really hard but feeling like you are losing control. Things aren’t feeling smooth or plain sailing like they used to and a simple task seems to be taking forever.
Boom! 💥
You are then hit with this feeling where you physically struggle to get out of bed, no enthusiasm for the things you recently loved to do. The overwhelm of daily life feels too much.
So you take a few days rest and you are back to feeling ok… ☺️
You go straight back to doing what you did before and low and behold the familiar feeling of tasks being a struggle and overwhelm returns.

This is the power that burnout has over you.
How do we stop this?

How?
- By resetting / implementing boundaries
- Prioritizing ourselves
- Self compassion
- Rest
- Saying no

I was living my best life or so I thought…
I was thriving in a fast paced agency where deadlines and pressure were second nature. I flitted around on several projects at once; running from meetings to meetings and firing emails left right and centre. I was invincible!

Yet I crashed and burned. I am not talking about a project going wrong or missing a deadline. I’m talking about how I struggled to get out of bed, how hard I found getting dressed; everything was a struggle. I even started to resent the work and the people.

I had hit burnout or burnout had hit me.

I thought burnout only happens to people who hate their jobs. WRONG!

Burnout happens to anyone no matter if they love or loathe their jobs. It is caused when we put ourselves on a continuous stress journey or under stress for long periods of time. Burnout can naturally occur in every career or corporate environment yet it is rarely talked about.

You may feel like you are succeeding but at what cost?!

It’s time to manage the pressures / stresses better to prevent or even break the cycle.

As we come out of a bank holiday weekend - take this as a reminder that we do not need to punish ourselves for the extra rest by condensing a weeks work into 4 days.

It may be a case where this week we just need to re-prioritse what needs to be done. You may even be surprised at how much more productive you are 💥

I also see you, corporate leaders who tend to encourage this behaviour… it’s time to stop the bulls**t and be more supportive 👀
