NHS PICKET LINE π
The plan π
The Department of Health and Social Care missed the deadline to submit evidence for the NHS pay review body, which is responsible for recommending the pay levels of NHS nurses across the country.
Former health minister Steve Brine said that he was 'astonished' to hear that the department had missed the deadline by over 20 days and still has not submitted evidence.
This has raised concerns that the pay body will not be able to prepare a recommendation in time for nurses to receive their pay by April 1st.
DHSC missed evidence deadline for NHS pay review body, MPs told The Department of Health missed the deadline for submitting evidence set by the independent NHS pay review body for this year's pay award.
Our trusty Banner. It's coming up to its third birthday. For nearly three years we have been asking for better pay and working conditions. For three years the government has ignored the people who got us through covid! The same people they clapped for, those who were deemed essential, praised in the media , are now being threatened to be sacked if you dare to strike. HOW DARE they ignore us and treat public sector workers as if they are Nothing! The government are not in talks , that is a lie. They refuse to negotiate and obviously do not want a resolution. BUT TOGETHER WE WILL WIN.
Please show support if you are able to. We will be there
Together we win π

Solidarity!
This is not a dig at anyone who works at McDonald's. We believe that everyone deserves a wage that they can live on regardless of what you do for a living. But why would a nurse or HCA who bare the responsibility of a human being's life / wellbeing want to work for this when it's less stressful to work at McDonald's. Any public facing job comes with some stress but no one will die if you forget someone's fries or if someone has to wait a little longer than usual to be served. We are losing NHS staff because fast food and supermarket chain wages are too competitive. McDonald's has a good affordable pension scheme as well. Please note that you have to work two years before you get to your next pay point.

Tom Hunt on NSFT
Do you think taking money from one of the most underfunded mental health Trusts in the UK and giving it to GP's will help "save" the NHS or push it further towards Privatisation.
THE PRIORY IS under intense scrutiny at the moment..
Met today with Dr. Tim Reed, GP at Orchard Medical Practice, to discuss how prioritising GPs in the NHS could improve its accessibility and efficiency. I also got to meet the reception staff and had a good chat about their work and experiences, as well as Dr. Chioma Ngoka who has been here four years.
Dr. Reed has been at the practice for the last ten years. He said that currently too much money is being spent on expensive secondary care due to the fragmenting of the GP. Issues like substance abuse, mental health, and other services could be delivered much more efficiently by GPs, who are rooted in their communities. Lack of filtering has meant people are now getting expensive hospital treatments when they would have previously gone to see their GP.
The doctor said that the NHS can be fixed in the communities, by allocating the funding that has been sent to other services and the hospitals back to the GPs and integrating those services back into the community. Patients would be cared for by their local GP, rather than a faceless organisation, such as the NSFT.
Iβm very interested in the suggestion of moving some funding from secondary care like the NSFT and integrating it back into the local communities through GPs. Keen to explore it further and see what might be able to be done. Iβm speaking with Dr. Daniel Poulter about this, as heβs making a case for some of the more stable substance abuse cases to be treated at GPs, though not all.
Like much of the country, we have issues in Ipswich with NHS waiting times, especially after Covid, so Iβm always keen to see how the system can be made more efficient by speaking to NHS professionals first hand.
