Whilst we’ve overcome so many barriers & inequalities, the playing field isn’t level with lots of boundary transgressions still happening in countries all over the world 🌍

We deserve to celebrate our individual day to day achievements & showing up for each other too makes this messaging even more powerful. When I think about what I personally achieve in any given day, as a business owner, employee, mother, sister, daughter, friend... honestly I’m proud!

I’m super lucky to know some truly courageous, strong, sensitive, supportive & downright impressive women who I’m honoured to call friends, colleagues & business wing women.

February & March can be a time when we feel more stretched than ever. Cold wet wintery days that can go on & on, interspersed with sudden bursts of sunshine & warmth. We really feel that need for Spring to arrive & to finally emerge from Winter.

Its a time over the years when I have noticed my own need for more support, as well as for those that I hold space for.

Each year I make a conscious effort to make sure I am supporting my own needs, especially as being a therapist & sound healing practitioner
but I still find days that are hard. Life's ever changing rhythm can still throw curve balls that knock us off balance.

I have learnt that the best way to help me through these tricky months & actually all year, is to outsource.

Go to the practices where someone else is looking after you.
Everyone needs a space to be held for them. Where you can simply switch off, be guided & let go. To feel that you are supported. This feeling alone is gold.💫

I like to plan ahead, book in things that when I have been, I am so grateful for having planned it in.
We do this for everything else, but what about 'our' time.
We tend to only reach out when we are really in need.

There are some amazing practitioners out there offering so many ways to hold us & help us.
Make sure that who you go to is trained in this knowledge. It will make all the difference & it is your health after all. Sound is powerful & needs to be handled with knowledge.

I personally love movement & sound, its such a beautiful combination that helps release stuck energies & shift negative ways of thinking.
Both are wonderful for helping regulate our nervous systems.

This March I am bringing my therapeutic sounds to a beautiful offering with Yoga practitioner Gemma of ðernorfolk. The ideal blend to help us step out of winter & feel renewed for the months ahead.

Hey I’m Gemma, founder of

For those of you that have recently started following thank you 🙏 Here’s a few more things about me…

🧘‍♀️ I walked into my first yoga class when I was 18 at Uni & the lovely Brazilian guy leading the class was in head to toe Lycra, leotard included. This initial practice was lost on me as the teaching style didn’t resonate. One of the most important aspects of starting a yoga practice is finding a teacher you feel motivated by, this will support you to build a consistent practice & feel the benefits for years to come.

⛰️ I love hiking just as much as yoga & used to live in the Peak District, as far as hikes go this made for a more challenging landscape as there aren’t many hills in Norfolk! My next hiking trip is planned for Madeira & I’m eyeing up an ashram in the Himalayas for some solo travel.

🩵🐾 I’m mum to my best friend in the world Ralph & dog mum to our cuddly cockapoo Freddie.. they’ve been keeping me on my toes since 2016 & I haven’t needed a gym membership since!!

🍵 I begin my mornings with a matcha, don’t speak to me before then 😂 & I’m a big believer in grounding my energy, bare feet on the grass whilst I wake up gently.

📿 Fast forward a few years & I rediscovered a real yoga practice, rather than the gimmicky kind, which at that time supported me immensely to rehabilitate from a pretty big injury & surgery (I haven’t skied since but I could be persuaded by the apres🎿)

🫶 Our yoga community are the friendliest humans I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing & a mix of all ages from 20’s to 80’s. As well as the whole body benefits, there’s plenty of science backed evidence on the social benefits of being part of a likeminded community.

📚 I love to learn & I’m already planning my next training which will be somatics based.. an area I’ve been immersing myself in more & more personally & next stop professionally.

🏃‍♂️ Last but not least I also work for Active Norfolk who are hands down the best team & organisation I’ve ever been a part of. My projects help bring meaningful, inclusive movement opportunities to young people across Norfolk & I cannot think of a more rewarding way to spend each day!

Life isn’t linear & our practice doesn’t have to be either. Love easing into the unknown with movement that has no attachment to the destination 🧭

It’s freeing to move our bodies in & out of shapes, shifting through time & space, shadow & light, feeling into each moment, softly & receptively 🌀

You don’t need a yoga mat, you don’t need any fancy pants or poses. All you need is to move your body intuitively & show up for yourself one day at a time 🫶

A slow weekend stay with Mill Farm Eco Barns~ a beautiful sustainable barn tucked away in Winterton-On-Sea, within strolling distance of the scenic East Norfolk coastline. We’ll most definitely be back, for the rolling views, fresh bread, homemade jam & juice! 🐚

Thank you to everyone who embraced our first woodland walk of the season today, definitely helped to blow the Christmas cobwebs away! 🍂

We walked a little, talked a lot, pondered some life stuff & showed up for each other as always. Those of you that weren’t able to make it this time were very much missed 🫶

It was a lovely catch up, starting the new year healthily & happily 😊

Winter isn’t the season for achieving goals or for putting pressure on our body, mind or nervous system. It’s a time to be soft and intentional as we usher in subtle shifts that support us to feel more healthful & peaceful in a sustainable way.

As we roll out our mats together next week for the new term, we’ll begin to work with our intentions for the year ahead, embodying & breathing them into being through slow movement, meditation, visualisation & journaling 📝

Living in this more conscious way supports us to cultivate the every day energy we need to create a more content reality.. longer term, not just because it’s January 💫

After the busiest year, retreating to the forest has been the most grounding medicine🌲🌲🌲

The trees are the best listeners + will hold space for you freely. This forest has been a balm for many years + I’m grateful every day it’s on my doorstep 🍃

If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed by the frenetic energy of the festive season, take yourself off to the forest too. You’ll feel reconnected to what genuinely matters + your energy levels will thank you for it 🔋

Feeling a little SAD this season?

You’re not on your own. Many of us will experience a cyclical depression in our mood. We’re often the sun seekers & lovers of the light!

When the darkness becomes dominant, there’s less daylight to regulate our circadian rhythm which can leave us susceptible to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) 🫤

We might also be feeling out of sorts due to the lack of vitamin d from sunlight, which means we have less serotonin (the happy hormone) circulating our system. Double 😕😕

Here’s a few routines I’m building into winter days to help take the edge off…

☀️ Taking my morning tea outdoors to help with melatonin production & hormone regulation.

📝 Writing in my morning pages, observing how I’m feeling & what I’m experiencing. Writing helps to shift any unhealthy stories out of my mind & onto paper. The physical act of writing is powerfully releasing.

🧘‍♀️ Moving my body within the first hour helps me feel more energised. I start with lymphatic massage, followed by some somatic shaking, flowing into grounding yoga stretches.

🌲 Walking outdoors.. an instant mood upgrade. Winter walks are full of wonder, especially when there’s a crisp white blanket of frost underfoot.

🫶 Being part of a likeminded community like Earth & Ether’s. One student told me it’s a ‘shining beacon of light’ in her week. Joining a community where you feel safe to show up exactly as you are is not only good for your mood, it also contributes toward your longevity.

💤 We know that adequate rest is necessary for healing & building our resilience. Retreating to bed earlier & rising with the sun has been a healthy way to rebalance my circadian rhythm.

These are a few of the ways I resource myself & I hope they help provide some practical comfort if you’re experiencing SAD this time of year too.

Summer… thank you for another season of growth 🌻

We spend many seasons reaching, searching for something more, something bigger, something better. What I relearnt this summer is that everything I ever needed was within me all along. I’d just lost sight of the ancient lessons deeply imprinted into my makeup & my matter ✨

Happy Place Festival was such an uplifting highlight of the summer & I was blessed to get to share this experience with one of my all time best 🙌

We moved, we meditated, shared a heart to heart with the most authentic teacher Zephyr Wildman & listened intently to the lived, healing wisdom of Vex King 🙏

It can be hard to move on from the sun soaked, lit up moments & lighter nights. A kind of grief can creep in if we let it, so it’s intuitive now to savour the stillness, hold the memories of summer close & invite in a softer call to REST.

The days are slowly fading, giving way to the longer nights & we too need to tune in with natures innate rhythm & regather our energy. Resourcing ourselves for winter & building on our resilience, one autumnal day at a time 🍃

Autumn is one of the most selfless seasons & we can learn so much by stepping back & letting go of holding on too tightly. Releasing the gripping in our bodies, hearts & minds as we follow natures lead 🍁

Grounding woodland walks with my loves & the dreamiest cacao ceremonies with Ahiṃsā Plant Healing will continue to keep my inner fire dancing during the cooler seasons to come 🔥

If movement is my medicine then nature is my therapist. If I’m ever feeling ungrounded or overwhelmed, I head outdoors. Most mornings I start the day with my bare feet on the grass in my garden 👣 If I have longer I’ll head to the forest to walk amongst the long standing wisdom🌲 When I feel the call to cleanse my energy completely I set off for the sea 🌊

This season is so beautiful with blossoms unfurling every day lit moment. Simply seeing & being around flowers boosts all of the feel good chemicals in our brain 🌸

There’s some sunshine here in Norfolk today too… just in time for the long weekend!! Have a lovely one 🌞
