So we accidentally left these guys stacked a day or two too long (and massively over seeded) but couldnt be happier with the new bach of tiny seed sunflowers!! 🌱🌻🌻
Full germination, not a lick of mould, the same chunky stems and very good vibes about the cost to yield per tray on these guys... How do you think they'll taste??

The battle of the whites!!! A clear winner here out of the two organic white pea varieties we're sampling 🧐
A sturdy 95% germination vs a (now binned) slimy and mouldy 79%!!
Introducing the final organic green/ blue pea sometime tomorrow 👌💚🌱🌱

On the hunt for a fantastic organic pea this week. This green pea is the first of four samples from the UK and abroad and scored a 93% germ. Were looking forward to popping the lid on the tray trials tomorrow🌱🙏

A pop of purple from our beautiful (and delicious!) sprouted Rambo Radish! 🫶💜🌿

Today we had the pleasure of chatting with hugo from with some nice feedback on our current garlic chive seeds 😃🌱🤘
Its always great hearing about your progress, expansions and sometimes troubles and this time helped remind me to harvest our own.
Pretty light on the density and high on the the chop with this tray but pretty happy with the yield, 7gs seed for 26gs fresh 🌱🌱👌

Monday the 22nd, sometime in the morning...
We started by filling the trays with coco peat then sowed seeds densely on the surface before treating them to quick misting💦
After that we stacked all the trays on top of eachother to give em a good squashing- this helps germination, rooting and a nice even canopy later in life 🌱 (last photo)
Time taken.... About 2 mins per tray

On Wednesday the 24th, sometime in the arvo...
We unstacked the trays and set them up in their racks (a windowsill is also just fine 🪟)
We placed another black reservoir tray, the one with no holes, on top like a funny little hat, giving the crops darkness and room to stretch out their tasty pretty legs.
The coco was still a little moist so no watering was required, this is called the "blackout phase" (second and third last photo)
Time taken...... Another two or three mins

Saturday the 27th, bright and early...
We removed their hats and exposed them to the rays, LED lights in our case but even a windowsill without direct sun is fine!! ☀️
We could have watered them today but i was lazy and forgot, thats the nice thing about these taller trays, they hold higher volume of compost and water so a lot more forgiving👌
We turned the lights off at dusk and said goodnight.
Time taken.... About 30 seconds

Sunday 28th, this morning... ish...
Watered each tray into the bottom black tray...... (the roots grow through the drainage holes in the green growing tray and water is also drawn up into the coco peat via a wicking action.).......Apart from that I picked a shell of a sunflower seedling, ate a purple radish shoot and wondered if i could get my pepper seedlings into the greenhouse yet 🤔🤔
Time taken... 5 mins as theyre nice to look at too!

Sunday 28th, around seven pm
Took them downstairs and plonked em in the kitchen ready for eating 🌱👌❤️🌻

Total time spent over the week (5 trays).... Not much, 17 mins over 7 days

Really excited as weve finally found a local pea supplier and as such are clearing out the last of the European stock.
The photo attached is the current batch for sale which has been great! We have had two growers report dead pea weavil inside some of their peas however with almost a tonne sold and no other negative feedback im pretty confident in the batch 🥳🌱
Theyre tasty tendrilly and delicious and a steal at 92£ for 20kg on a first come first serve basis limited stock available so get in quick.

Simply add a tablespoon of our organic sprouting seeds to a large mouth mason jar, fill with tap water, drain a few times before leaving to stand somewhere (a dish rack, a bowl, anywhere really😃) and get a jar full or deliciously health and happy sprouts!!! repeat the rinse and drain twice a day for a day ot two till ready 🌻 its as easy as that!!

She's fresh from our in house trials and passed with flying colours, of which the pink and green look as good as they are healthy!!
All our seeds are tested in house here as well as lab tested for pathogens, purity, germination and hard seed at origin.
