We've been on Our travels this week, and yesterday I was sooo Excited to visit St Mary the Virgin's Church, in Bottesford 🤩 (My family didn't share this excitement, lol)

I've done a lot of reading over these last couple of years regarding the horrendous With Trials of the 1600s, and one of the widely documented stories feature the "Witches of Belvoir". These Witches were members of The Flowers Family, a Mother and her two Daughters 🥰

There were accused of killing the 6th Earl of Rutlands two young heirs by "Wicked Practise & Sorcerye" and if you zoom in on the inscription on the tomb, you can see those are the exact words used!

The young boys are then shown holding skulls on their tomb carvings, depicting the Wicked way in which they died

It's horrendous what these poor women were accused of, and the thousands more 😢 But fascinating to go and visit the place that I've read so much about ❤️🙏
