...and saving the best until last of course! I’m Ryan and I am Pages Producer so I will be running all the social media pages, advertising our performance to make sure we sell out and managing the budget. I am also the set designer so I will ensure everything on stage looks spotless and suits the 1940s era.

Who else could be our movement director other than the one and only Erin Dempsey? She’s twerking hard to make the pages come alive, as she designs our sound and lends a helping hand on the set design as well.

Our wonderful lighting designer Henry… This is his first time designing lighting, but he is committed to locking himself away at stage@leeds practising, experimenting and designing the incredible lighting to transform our stage into the world of PAGES.

… drum roll please! Imogen is our fantastic costume designer standing ready and waiting with her tape measure, colour swatches and sketches to make sure every costume is perfect and fits like a glove.

Round of applause for our expert props princess… Meg. She is constantly writing lists for each scene promising the finer details and breaking our bank account of course💸💸

Show some love for our scenographer, Phoebe. Phoebe is managing our set designers, props management and costuming to bring it all together making sure we all get our hands dirty!

Josh, is composing the foundations for our piece as the final addition to our crucial writing family - he is also our expert videographer filming all the exciting sneak peeks and trailer!

Joe, an imaginative co-writer who is working hard (most of the time🤪🤪!) on our elaborate script ensuring we stay true to the many diaries, letters and books we are taking inspiration from.

Another one of our very talented co-writers Chloe, bringing to life the PAGES of our script with her amazingly dynamic ideas - she is also our resident dramaturg making sure we respect the past and the untold stories of the many.

Introducing one of our amazing co-writers Malcolm, frantically typing away to bring to life his weird and wonderful ideas. You’ll find him writing the story of betrayal and loss, courage and hope - annoying us all along the way i’m sure🤪🤪

A huge announcement to our incredible director Katie… she is doing a fabulous job at getting her creative ideas onto the stage working with the actors on their characterisation, the writers so their ideas are collective and the overall running of our piece.

Chapter 3: Introducing our Production Team
It’s time to show the face of our amazing company manager Chloe… she has been very busy keeping us all organised, running productively and scheduling our rehearsals so we’re never sat doing nothing!!!

Chapter 2: Why now?

Before we introduce our incredible production team, we just wanted to share our reasons for why we are currently creating a performance inspired by the diary entries of Anne Frank and many other significant individuals.

Our main reason is the 75th year anniversary of the liberation of the N**i regime and concentration camps. Therefore, it is a timely opportunity to create such a performance.

Additionally, this performance is now more than ever a vital, and incredibly relevant topic due to recent revelations around the globe regarding the displacement and discrimination of large populations. It is shocking, unthinkable in fact, that the lessons we as a world learnt many years ago still do not mean anything to this day - what do the recent happenings tell us about the progress we as supposedly compassionate & loving human beings have learnt?

Our performance questions the role of morality in a world where our own humanity hit crisis.

Chapter 1: Who are we? And what do we do?

We are Binding Theatre and we work with adapting texts to create performances based on the narratives of real people living through real events. We mould these narratives so we do not explicitly name the real people, but our narrative will always be inspired by, based on and respectful of REAL truths.

Our premier project is titled ‘Pages’ and is based in 1940s Europe following the lives of those living through the holocaust.
