At what height is external fire spread acceptable?

Following the Grenfell Tower disaster, regulations relating to external wall surfaces are being tightened. However, new guidelines only focus on buildings with a top floor height over 18m – approx. 6 floors above ground.

But is someone asleep on the 5th floor at any less risk than someone on the 6th floor?

Surely anyone who is asleep when a fire occurs is faced with an increased risk, so why limit regulations to buildings over six floors?

Coronavirus Contingency – Our Team Are Now Homeworking

Innovation Fire Engineering Ltd are taking the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak extremely seriously. Following government advice for non-essential travel and encouraging working from home where possible, we have taken the decision to implement homeworking for our employees from 17/03/20. Our team will not be attending any scheduled design meetings in person at present, but will be available by telephone.
