This weekend celebrated the grand arrival of the 2023 Water Rabbit, symbolising ‘HOPE’, and representing longevity and peace as we enter the Chinese New Year.
Our current dark cosy Winter of reflection, and anticipation of new beginnings is perhaps when we consider what hope may mean for us this year. As we then transition into the bouncy lightness of Spring, we move from introversion to a more dynamic phase of putting these plans into action; a time when we generate courage and dare to act on our hopes.

Of course, these transitions are more comfortable when we feel balanced and able to take on what the seasons and life itself demands of us. Acupuncture works to bring that balance, aligning us with the energetic forces the seasons represent.

I've reflected on what the symbol of this perky, agile and gentle Water Rabbit means to my practice and patients. I believe that with hope comes intention, and mine is that my patients, and those beyond, continue to find their own hope, comfort, strength, wellbeing and support through this wonderful holistic therapy.

No matter how your ailment or imbalance may present, mentally or physically, there is always hope.

As we enter the new year I’ve been reflecting on what ‘wellness’ really means to my patients and their acupuncture treatments. The sheer diversity of people and variety of conditions presenting within the ‘wellness’ banner over the last 12 months means no treatment is ever the same; always tailored to the individual and always rewarding.

And sometimes wellness just means a supporting boost, as a lovely patient reminded me today. Thank you ❤️
