Heads were turned yesterday as our keen eyed customers (Hi Seang!) watched over the team preparing a batch of delicious mei mei style Ayam Goreng Berempah for staff lunch….maybe we took it a step further and paired it with some sambal belacan mayo and an iced lemon teh. Fancy a little lift? This is teh tarik – literally “pulled tea” - a hot fave drink from Malaysia & Singapore. We brew it strong, sweeten with condensed milk, then get that signature froth from “pulling” between mugs. Our Hainanese chicken (Halal) at MEI MEi is gently poached in garlic, ginger and fresh, fragrant Pandan leaves. Another awesome supply line via 👌🏻👌🏻

Once poached, it gets a ice cold bath to stop the meat going dry and keep the skin supple and soft, then it’s hung to dry and later seasoned with our in-house dressing (if you have a sesame allergy we can easily omit the dressing. Just ask our chefs!)
