We were deeply saddened by the news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away at her residence in Balmoral, Scotland, on the 8th September. Our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by the news. ⁠

The design on the shocking pink sweater is taken from a collection of old antique embroideries I have which I love. ⁠
It is called Khorsheed. Khanoom, which means Lady Sun. ⁠
In the south west of Iran very young girls from 5-6 to 9 years old embroidered “Lady Suns” to take to their home when betrothed ⁠
at these very young tender ages. ⁠
Fabrics were in short supply. and they would save scraps from which each young girl would create her own Sun, which would then be further embroidered with sequins. ⁠
This was for each bride a very special piece as when she went to her new home it would be the important decorative centrepiece that would be hung over the mantle piece, where everyone would gather in the home and this Lady Sun would bring sunshine, happiness , great wealth (in the shape of sheep and goats) for the whole family during their married life. ⁠

THE LION DESIGN

I have chosen this because I love it and because the lion and sun, as everyone knows, has always been in our culture, it appears everywhere is our history.
The intarsia is actually taken from a design of an old carpet.
I have recoloured it to blend in with our collection of ice and shades of blue this season.

I have also given you an option of a very colourful one.
I am blessed as I have the most incredible intarsia knitter who loves his work and puts his sole into his intarsia knitting . Sadly it is becoming a lost art in
Scotland to be able to hand knit to such perfection. It's a real art and takes days and an enormous amount of patience to knit.
I have take photos of Alan our treasure d intarsia knitter for you to see how he works.

Then of course I have my great team in Scotland that puts together this fabulous intasia and gifts this art to you ! To treasure and admire 😊
