Back After Morning Walk...

I took a look back at my year in social media through the lens of the iPhone automated technology last night and it gave me pause. What a year! Its hard to thank all the patients I've cared for and the people who have helped me over the year but if you know me, I suspect you'll already have an idea of my gratitude. Its hard work and a heck of a responsibility but 34 years of nursing, unexpected opportunities and some pretty awesome mentors have equipped me with the skill to do this well. What's not to love about helping people find their confidence, and be the best version of themselves - at least from the point of view of healthy skin. Doing this helps me do my other work well too - because it gives me a counter balance. Happy Christmas folks.

Exactly this. Every now and then I can’t resist but really I don't want to share photos of people who come to see me. Sadly social media pressures are hard to sidestep but Dr Shotter is spot on. People wouldn’t be coming to see me years on if I wasn't delivering a quality service. My banner is ‘safety skill and kindness’. Before and After photos don’t really support my values at all. I am always happy to find other ways to demonstrate what I can achieve.

Let's talk about before and after photos - why don’t I share more of them?

Well, there are several reasons...

1) Every single face is different. If I post a dramatic before and after photo, and you come to see me saying ‘I want that’ it may not be right for you or you may not have the same response as that individual. I prefer to consult based on your face. Bring me photos of how YOU looked when you were happy with your appearance.

2) Photographs can be so misleading - so many pictures we see online may look very impressive but are often using tricks of lights or angles to make the result look more dramatic. Even with the best photography setups, truly consistent photographs can be challenging.

3) Most of my patients are private individuals who don’t want their faces splashed over my social media or website. We have a bank of photographs we can share on request, but I’d far rather focus my Instagram grid on education about aesthetics, wellbeing and treatments rather than sharing photographs that can give unrealistic expectations.

This 69 year young lady came to see me two months ago for lower face refresh and we have had two sessions now. She has kindly given me permission to share. I don’t think any photo will do justice to the way she has engaged with the process and the pure sass with which she hops off the couch at the end of treatment when she sees her reflection. She has been using retinol and SPF religiously now for approximately two months and the difference is wonderful. She has also had an eight-point dermal filler lift using and some extra light dermal filler to the perioral area and to the marionette lines which had been her primary concern. She wasn’t keen on toxin injections or lip filler. Her skin has really improved with the retinol and spf and proves the benefits of medical grade home care. There’s still a little healing to do so there may be other updates to follow. Given the heat I was pretty surprised that she didn’t have much bruising at all but we had taken steps to reduce the risk. Part of my USP is to really take time with my patients so there is no rushing around treatments like this.

This is why I love my job. We all need a little lift from time to time. 0.5mls of to hydrate and refresh the lips for this beautiful woman. Honestly it makes my heart sing. .vivacy

NCTF Mesotherapy is a technique that uses micro-injections of hyaluronic acid that carry amino-acids, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants to right where they can make a positive difference in your skin.
One of my biggest frustrations since becoming an aesthetics nurse is that I now know that we can spend a small fortune putting creams on out skin that do nothing to help and sometimes do harm. With treatments such as NCTF, you can be sure you are getting a great product that will make a difference. It can be used for microneedling as well as injections and has been earning he nickname ‘the Chanel Injection’. NCTF is especially great for delicate undereye areas and can be a more gentle but still effective, alternative to tear trough filler.

What skin conditions can we treat with mesotherapy:
