The end of a very busy Summer term at London Junior and Senior Ballet!

From the youngest students in our Junior Foundation class right through to our Graduates, everyone has worked exceptionally hard this year, and we hope everyone has a well deserved break over the Summer ready for classes to start again on 22nd September

London Junior and Senior Ballet welcome applications for our advanced ballet training programme for 7 to 18 years, running each Sunday during term time

Our next auditions will be held on Sunday 8th September at Arts Educational School in Chiswick. Scholarship auditions, for students entering academic year 10 and above will be held on the same date

Weekly classes are held in Chiswick on Sundays and provide advanced ballet training for ages 7 - 18

LJSB Easter Course update - Denise Whiteman

We are excited to confirm that Denise Whiteman, Director of Dance Training at Elmhurst School for Ballet, will be teaching on our Easter course

2nd - 4th April at Arts Educational School in Turnham Green, London

Here is her bio:

Denise Whiteman: Has had an exciting eclectic mix of dance training and roles as both a professional dancer and teacher/director.

A dancer with London City Ballet and numerous Musical Theatre productions as well as on TV, Denise was invited to be the Associate Choreographer to Gillian Lynne on the inaugural UK tour of Phantom of the Opera.

Denise taught at many vocational schools, such as Doreen Bird College, Hammond School, Northern Ballet School and Northern School of Contemporary Dance before joining Elmhurst School for Ballet where she is now the Director of Dance Training.

Denise was also responsible with Lynn Wallis, (the then Artistic Director of RAD) for the filming of the RAD vocational work and subsequently the Repertoire Syllabus.

She has knowledge in the training of young dancers at the highest level of vocational standards to professionals and will be inspirational for our young dancers.

Easter Course Guest Teacher - Danielle Cato

We are thrilled that Danielle Cato will be joining us for the Easter Course her energy and enthusiasm for dance is infectious and she has huge amounts of stage and screen experience!

Danielle's bio:

Trained at RBS (White Lodge & Upper Schools) and Laine Theatre Arts. Finalist in ‘So you think you can Dance’, a stunning dancer of numerous Ballet, West End and touring productions, hugely knowledgeable in ballet, jazz and musical theatre genres. Danielle has often appeared on TV, most recently in 42nd Street.

Easter Course Guest Teacher - Abbie Pillans

Some of our students already know Abbie as she has taught many classes for Dance Gems

Abbie is a graduate from Ballet West and then latterly the Laban Institute. She performed in UK and had several commissioned works created on her. She has performed works by Sir Kenneth MacMillan and Robert Cohen. Abbie is a keen choreographer as well as a ballet and contemporary teacher for young dancers. She is the Deputy Director for Dance Gems in Wimbledon and also works in a freelance capacity with several other organisations.

London Junior & Senior Ballet Easter Intensive

We are delighted that Xander Parish will be one of our guest teachers and know that our students will gain a lot from his experience

Here's his bio:

Xander graduated from the Royal Ballet School into the Royal Ballet Company, where he performed a wide range of repertoire.

He was the first British dancer invited to join the famous Mariinsky Theatre and was made a Principal there in 2017.

He is highly sought after and has danced with companies like English National Ballet, ABT, Stanislavsky Ballet and guested internationally.

He created balletclass.com in August 2021 and in 2022 joined the Norwegian National Ballet.

Xander has been a regular teacher throughout the last few years of ballet students in the UK too, where he has a passion to help and to pass on his immense expertise.

Easter Days of Dance 🐣

Raw Talent Holiday Courses are coming to London this Easter !!!!

Former Royal Ballet’s first soloist and principal of London Junior and Senior Ballet José Martín and his team will be delivering two very exciting days of training and workshops .

April 9th Juniors (11-14years )
April 10th Seniors (15+years )

This rare opportunity of training will be held in the stunning studios at the Arts Depot , North Finchley.

The days will include classical class , pointe work , George Balanchine and Russel Maliphant workshops and contemporary movement coaching .

The number of dancers is capped to aid our promise of individual development.

We are very excited to announce that Crystal Costa will be joining us on July 4th 🎉

Crystal will be delivering a workshop based on movement in Akram Khan’s Giselle with Senior 2 and 3 🎉

Born in Vancouver, Crystal graduated with Honours from Canada’s National Ballet School in 2001. She joined Hong Kong Ballet that same year and was promoted to Soloist in 2003 and Principal Dancer in 2005. In 2007, Crystal joined the English National Ballet and danced as a First Soloist until 2020.
