New Directions Specialist Support Services
New Directions specialise in supporting children and young adults with continuous, intermediate, periodic or temporary needs in their own homes.
Today is Women's Equality Day⚖️
For centuries woman’s inferior status in society was accepted as logical and reasonable; women were ‘beautiful’ and ‘not fit for serious employment’❌
Over the last century, great women have proved these views wrong as the world has witnessed just what women are capable of achieving, from the likes of Rosa Parks and Eleanor Roosevelt fighting for civil rights and equality to great scientists such as Marie Curie, Rosalind Franklin and Jane Goodall👩
Social Care employs around 1.6 million people in the UK, and 80% of these jobs are occupied by women. Today we must celebrate, and pay tribute to the trailblazers in our recent history📜
You have probably been told many times before that you need to respect your elders. In fact, this is a phrase that most children hear throughout their lives📈
Well, Senior Citizen Day is all about respecting your elders. It is about honoring those people who have been on this earth longer than we have. Getting old is not easy, and that is why we all need to make sure that we are there for our grandparents, relatives, friends and clients🧓
This is something New Directions do everyday, but if you would like to join in with efforts, there are a lot of charities out there that are designed to help combat loneliness in older people. So why not give them some of your time?

It is the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health, and the theme is nature.
Research has shown that good mental health depends on us being able to connect with nature in some way.
With that in mind, during this week why not try and make a habit each day of connecting to nature in your local area, take a moment to appreciate and enjoy your surroundings, and don’t forget to send us pictures and videos!
