Our journey concludes with the Forum era, where it all began in 1930. π
On Thursday 18 December 1930 our cinema opened its doors for the first time, 'a Talkie Theater of Blue and Gold'. ππ§‘
The theater became a beacon of joy and escapism during some of the most pivotal decades in history.
It featured a mixed programming of both silent films (featuring our Compton Organ) and talkies, with our state of the art sound system. π½ Alongside varity turns, such as dances, plays and the Fulham Road Orchestra. πΆ
Thank you for traveling through time with us on this nostalgic journey through the history of our cinema. Each era has been filled with cherished memories, laughter, and tears. π
As Mr. Herbert A.Yapp, the first General Manager of the Forum Fulham Road so aptly said, 'I believe that film entertainment is an integral part of modern life.' and 'I thank you once again for you company on this occasion.'
Here's to the films that brought us together! π₯

π Another leap back to the ABC era, this time to the 60s and 70s! π
The ABC years were filled with iconic films that still resonate with us today, bringing people together for shared experiences under the silver screen.
Although ABC had owned the cinema from 1935, it was only re-named ABC in 1961. π½
With these photos you can see the changes that took place after the first renovation in 1974, when the cinema was converted from a single screen into 4, marking the begining of the new 'multi-operational' cinemas. π
