SUGAR vs. FAT

What am I talking about?

Well, most foods (usually the ones you know you shouldn't be eating yet there are others too!) are either high in fat or sugar or sometimes both.

Sugar rots your teeth and can trigger Type 2 Diabetes (Type 1 Diabetes does not progress to Type 2 or vice versa). Type 1 is genetically contracted usually at a young age and can not be managed through the food you eat or exercise you do. This one usually needs injections of insulin.

Type 2 Diabetes can be prevented by losing weight and eating healthily (and reducing stress). This is what I am referring to from my title. Sugar in the blood impacts your pancreas and too much of it over a long period of time will result in Type 2 Diabetes. Fat in your diet (as long as it is healthy fat) can help with the well functioning of your body. IF your body can't get rid of the sugar into your muscles like most healthy people it will store it in your fat cells which as you can imagine ends up being a downward spiral of ill health.

THERE IS GOOD NEWS!

You can start exercising as little as 10 minutes walk in the morning, before breakfast, 10 minutes after breakfast and then the same for lunch and dinner that is an hours worth of walking!

How often do you sit at home and wish someone would ring you and suggest, well anything rather than these 4 walls? How many of you have had a night out planned, or arranged coffee with friends and suddenly "these 4 walls" seem the only safe haven because it's the only place you don't have to pretend you are ok, so you cancel. Or when you are invited out you tell them how terribly sorry you are but you're already booked up that weekend, when you are actually just really busy holding it together in your safe box. And so the first problem starts, all by itself. People stop asking you and the isolation that at first wasn't true becomes your only truth.
Please don't give up on your friends. Ring them, go round, even when they don't want you to. Because they really do they just don't know how to say it.
