It's always great to see performances on the honours board and this week's 135 by Lewis Mitchard is right up there. Congrats again Lewis, what a way to hit your maiden century for the club. 👏 👏
Not the weekend we were hoping for with defeats for our 2nds and 3rds, while our 1sts couldn't get over the line in their match, with a draw being the end result.
Despite the results, there were some positives, with Lewis Mitchard hitting 135 for the 1sts, his debut hundred for the club, with Simon Digweed also picking up another half century in the same game.
In the 2nds, a number of contributions with the bat, along with wickets shared by the bowlers. In the 3rds, Sachin Nimbalkar hit a solid 66, with Martin Walker falling just short of a half century. 3rd XI skipper Prashant Suroshe was the pick of the bowlers, picking up 3 wickets in his spell.
We go again next weekend.

Our Under 11s are on fire at the moment. Their 60 run victory against Falkland CC last night made it 6 wins in a row for the team. This followed their win by 86 runs on Sunday against Hungerford CC.
Let's keep it going.
It was two wins and a defeat for our Senior XIs on Saturday. The 1sts and 2nds came out on top in their matches, with the 3rds narrowly missing out on their run chase against their opposition.
Here are the details and performance highlights from the three matches.
Despite the rainfall on Friday and into Saturday, our 2nd XI worked wonders to get their game on against Reading CC 3rds. With a reduced over match played out, our 2nds agonisingly fell 2 runs short of the visitors' revised innings at Northcroft.
Highlights included Jayandan Rajaram's fine knock of 72.
Here's hoping the weather improves to allow all 3 senior sides take to the field on Saturday.

Special mention goes to Jayaprakash Pammula who hit his second 100 of the month/season, with 107 for the 3rds in their win (by 1 run) on Saturday. That century followed on from his unbeaten 60 the week before.
'JP' has already surpassed his runs tally for the previous two seasons, with over 300 runs so far, averaging 51 in the league.
Keep it up 'JP'. 💪

After the weekend's results, here are the latest league standings in Div4a, 7a and 9a of the Thames Valley Cricket League.
It was a busy Sunday for our Junior XIs, with 3 games involving our Under 9s, 11s and 15s, the latter being in the quarter final of the County Cup. Unfortunately, no wins this weekend, but we go again.
Austin Keep has kindly provided a match report from that cup game involving the Under 15s:
"Newbury u15's bowed out of the County Cup with a narrow 7 run loss at Emmbrook and Bearwood yesterday afternoon. Having bowled so well in the previous round, too many wides and no balls allowed the home team to reach 129- 6 despite a good spell from Ranvir and 2 wickets for Stan. Newbury's chase started really well despite some fast and hostile bowling, with good contributions from both openers Connor and Rory. Kobi, having produced a wonderful run out whilst fielding, was then run out by a direct hit from the boundary and the game started to ebb and flow. A great partnership between Logan 20 and man of the match Stan (40 not out) brought Newbury within range, but 15 off the last over was just too many as the home side won by just 7 runs."
