Ukraine: Emergency Aid with Dignity 08/03/2022

Below is a post from Housing 21's Business Improvement Manager, Cressida Stanley-Williams. What an amazing courageous lady.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask for your support about a topic that I am sure is close to all our hearts as we continue to see the tragic events that unfold in the Ukraine.
With some trepidation, I’m going out to Moldova at the weekend to support Ukrainian refugees coming across one of the two official crossing routes (self funded).
I’ve volunteered for Refugee Support Europe in a refugee camp in Greece previously and we will be providing food and emergency supplies which is why your donation is so important. It will absolutely get to the right place.
It looks like we have now secured somewhere to stay in the capital and we will be travelling 90mins to get to the crossing each day.
We will also be getting set up for future volunteers so we can ensure the efforts continue. Refugee Support Europe specialise in short term volunteering of up to four weeks, so if you think this is something you might want to do, get in touch.

You can help raise money for Refugee Support Europe by donating online https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/RefugeeSupportUkraine?utm_source=sms

Ukraine: Emergency Aid with Dignity An experienced Refugee Support team is going Romania and Moldova to help with the humanitarian emergency facing people from Ukraine. The numbers crossing their borders to safety is rising fast and they will need our support on their journey.

Merry Christmas! 🎄

Thank you to everyone that has supported our fundraising events and the reverse calendar appeal this year. Your support has made a real difference in our local communities.

Please note that we will be taking a break from social media over the festive period so we will not be able to reply to any direct messages until we are back on the 4th January.

If you are a resident with an urgent enquiry during this time please contact your Court Manager (or the covering Manager if they are off). Contact details for the local team are available on your noticeboard.

In an emergency, please contact the Appello careline either via your pullcord or pendant or call 0333 321 6450 or dial 999.

We know that Christmas can be a difficult time of year. You are not alone, please reach out to others, don’t suffer in silence. For a cheerful chat day or night someone is always there for you.
