Stacey said that immediately following the unexpected diagnosis, “the world stopped, everything felt surreal and slow”.

She added: “I couldn't take any information on, you panic, you don't think it's going to happen to you.”

However, Frankie’s surgery as a newborn was successful and five months on Stacey reports that he is a “happy and healthy” little boy.

Reflecting on her experience, Stacey confessed to being really scared at times, but added: "It's easy to fall down an unhelpful hole. I want there to be hope for other parents, to encourage people to talk about it.”

The Welsh Government has terminated a research contract on ‘conversion practices’ after it was revealed that the research company’s director is a convicted s*x offender.

Last year, Laurel Research Consulting Ltd secured a contract to assess the “experiences of conversion practices among people aged 18+ in Wales” to “inform future policy development”.

James Mullen, the founder and director of the firm, was imprisoned for eight months in 2013 and was on the s*x offenders register when the research was commissioned.

An estimated 8-10,000 people attended, more than any previous year, with banners and talks around the theme “Abortion isn’t healthcare”.

A pro-life health summit was held in the morning, with medical professionals speaking on the damaging effects of abortion on women’s health.

Dr Haywood Robinson said: “As a retired family physician who practised medicine for forty years, I know what real healthcare is and I assure you, abortion – the killing of our children – is not healthcare”.

The British Medical Association has threatened the reputation of UK doctors by rejecting the findings of the landmark Cass review into transgender healthcare, a leading member of the union has said.

Dr Jacky Davis said the BMA’s stance on the review was “irrational” and had created a fracture between its leadership and grassroots doctors, leaving the medical profession in “uproar”.

The BMA has refused to endorse the findings of Dr Hilary Cass, whose report was published in April, claiming it contained “unsubstantiated recommendations”.
