The evidence clearly points to their benefits on cognitive function, memory and the ability to solve complex problems. The benefits are greater if playing or singing is done as part of a group - suggesting that there are additional benefits to the brain in the social interaction aspects of music.

An interesting article I read recently stated that turmeric is good, not only for our joints but for our eyes too!
Most of us have heard of the benefits of taking turmeric to ease joint pain, but research from the University College London is doing exciting research into taking an extract of turmeric, called curcumin, and making it into eye drops.
"Curcumin is an exciting compound that has shown promise at detecting and treating the neurodegeneration implicated in numerous eye and brain conditions from glaucoma to Alzheimerβs Disease, so being able to administer it in eye drops may end up helping millions of people.β says Professor Francesca Cordeiro from the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology.
