Dr Jenny Milne, Consultant Clinical Psychologist.
I am an HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years of experience of working with children, young people, adults and families, the last 20 of which have focussed on ASD. During my career I have worked in a number of NHS CAMHS Teams and also within a second opinion autism assessment service.
I am trained in a variety of assessment tools, I am an accredited ADOS trainer, and am trained and experienced in running a number of ASD parent programmes:
• National Autistic Society – EarlyBird Plus and Health Minds
• Barnardo’s – Cygnet and Siblings programmes plus Puberty, S*x and Relationships
• Social Skills Institute – Secret Agent Society
• CUES Coping with Uncertainty in Everyday Situations
I enjoy working with young people with ASD and their families to help develop clear strategies to maximise their strengths and support them in reducing the impact of social communication difficulties.
As exam season fast approaches and many students will be feeling anxious as they face revision, past papers and exam timetables, here are some helpful tips for neurodiverse young people, their parents and school staff.
We wish all young people the very best in their exams 🤞🏻🐈⬛ 🍀 🤩 ✨

Introducing our team - Vikki Pestell Specialist Occupational Therapist.
I started my career in 2010 working in community paediatrics, and I quickly became interested and passionate about supporting autistic children and young people.
I have previously worked in the NHS for 13 years, working in mainstream and specialist schools and inpatient settings as well as in the Regional Second Opinion Autism Assessment team. My interests are in assessing for sensory processing differences, as well as Developmental Co-Ordination Disorder (Dyspraxia), contributing to the multi-disciplinary assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I also offer therapy to individuals following their assessments in order to help them live the life they want to live. https://instagram.com/p/C4NrXTqok8l/
We are based in Clara Vale in the Tyne Valley and also have rooms in Tynemouth. Adult and child consultations available within two to three months. Enquire here [email protected]
What do our clients say about us?
We often see young people and adults who find they have high levels of stress in response to certain situations and events, and who find it extremely challenging to regulate and feel safe at the time.
The use of mindfulness exercises is very helpful in getting background levels of arousal down, but at the time of the event when stress levels are very high it can be very helpful to understand what is going on and what sorts of things are helpful in that moment
