Happy Earth Day!🌏🫶🏻

We could not let today go by without talking about the importance of looking after the world we live in. 🫂

Lead by our Newcastle Queen of Sustainability, , this year’s Rotaract GBI Conference demonstrated our club’s commitment to sustainability by

🌱 Serving 150+ vegan meals
🌍 Raising £115 for the rotary foundation for the environment
👥 Facilitating a whole programme of events and workshops on improving sustainability in our communities.

We are so proud of all that we achieved through the conference and aim to continue this, not just for Earth Day but everyday.👊

🐝 Our little group has been keeping ourselves busy! So… what have we even been doing? 👷

📽️ Lots of volunteering at the Star and Shadow cinema! From community kitchen to cleaning club, we’ve been keeping ourselves involved to support one of our favorite community spaces 🥰

💬 Planning! We’ve got SO much coming up - quizzes, charity collections, and the national Rotaract conference 🥳

💍 Rotaract wedding! Our co-presidents got MARRIED this year, and so many Rotaract members went along to celebrate 🥰

🧑‍🏫 We’re hosting a pub quiz on 26 May for World Environment Day, supporting the charity Friends of the Earth 🌱

Come along with friends for an 8 PM start! Just £2 at the door to play, all for a great cause 🥰 Find us at Luther’s Bar, Newcastle University Students Union 🎓

You don’t need to be an environmental scientist or activist to join, it’s like your standard pub quiz, just more fun, more charitable, and more EARTH 🌍

🎉 Our club has been going strong for 8 whole years! We’ve made it through the worst of the pandemic, having only a handful of people at times and never-ending Zoom calls, to slowly starting to meet in person, and now we are a growing club of passionate volunteers who just want to do good things for their community 🩷 Thanks so much to everyone who has supported our club over the past eight years! We are so excited for our future 🌈

Our theme this month is Rotaract Tyneside Saves the Earth 🦸🌍 Keep up with our account to be informed and inspired to spring into climate action 🌱

🇺🇳 5 June is World Environment Day, and this year’s theme is . To do our part, we’re putting on three litter picks this month, an enviro-quiz, and a social nature walk 🌈

🫶 As always, no need to be in Rotaract to participate, we want as many people as possible re-energised and engaged in climate action 💪
