Today sees the completion of our EYFS outdoor area refurbishment. How amazing does it look now! Complete with our new wonderful fencing too ☺️ The children can’t wait to explore ☺️🌻

Class Three have been learning about forces in their science lessons.
Here, they are exploring how viscosity affects the speed of a falling object. They tested out water, cooking oil, ketchup, passata and honey.

Year 1 & 2 had fun playing football at Greystoke yesterday, it didn’t rain too much and everyone kept smiling 😃😃 Well done Team Penruddock!!

Fabulous if wet time at Penrith Tennis Tournament last week with our Year 3 and 4 squad. All teams achieved good placings with the A-Team finishing 2nd overall. Well Done to you all.

Blencathra Class had an amazing time in Bowness yesterday. We had a fabulous visit to Beatrix Potter World and then we walked along the Lake ready for a late lunch.
We would like to thank Mr Nash for his wonderful generosity, allow the class to have their lunch in the Sky Bar at Lake View. The weather was glorious and so was the view. The children had a wonderful time, which was enhanced by the free ice-cream off Mr Nash. We had some sleepy children on the bus on the journey back to school.
Thank you so much to Mrs Calvert and Mrs Patterson who were amazing helpers on the trip too.
What an amazing day, we were so blessed and lucky! ☺🌻

On Friday we finished off the week with a fun-filled afternoon with Beyond Fitness with Sarah Boogie Bounce! The children loved it!

It is our half termly 'Stay and Play' session on Wednesday 22nd May, 9.30 - 11am. Fun in Blencathra class for the over 2s and pre-schoolers.

This half term Class Three is studying the ancient Maya civilization. The children have learned about the different functions of buildings in Maya towns and they then planned their own Maya street layout.
Next came the fun bit: bringing their plans to life by creating the buildings out of Lego!

Class Three has been busy investigating forces in their science lessons this half term. They made their own catapults and tested out how far they could project different materials and today they investigated using levers to balance forces.

Blencathra Class has new visitors in the classroom. The children have been enthralled watching our visitors. We can’t wait for them to emerge 🦋🐛🌻😊

Tomorrow Miss Guy is embarking on the K2B challenge! She'll be walking a whopping 40 miles, starting in Kewsick and finishing in Barrow-in-furness (on what looks like potentially the hottest day of the year so far!)
It's a fantastic fundraising event that supports a range of Cumbrian charities; from North Air Ambulance to local Scout groups and nurseries.

We're excited to announce the arrival of 3 (possibly 4) new guests discovered at school today! What a lovely surprise, their Mother appears to be very attentive, we hope to watch the family develop. 🐣🐣🐣
