NEWS! We are also excited to let you know that we are joining up with ARTISTIK STORYTIME to continue offering our parent and baby/toddler group (0-5 years). This will start at Holy Cross Church and later in the year we will have sessions at school as well. Every Thursday from 10am-11.30 Term Time.
Interactive stories to grow imagination Adult and Toddler Group Games, story, craft, messy play, toys, snack, refreshments – Please can you share this with any families that may be interested and if you are able to support this group in any way we would be very grateful. This is a fantastic free offer for families in our area and we would like to encourage as many local families to come as possible. Thank you!

We will be closed on Monday 19th September following DfE guidance to observe the bank holiday.

We are looking for volunteers to try and help set up a morning parent toddler group after the Easter Holidays in our school hall.

We can’t wait to kickstart our Science Week with Seadream Education today !

It's officially British Science Week !!!!!
We kick start our week with a visit today to Newton Ferrers Church of England Primary School where we will be "Diving into into Devon and the Deep sea!" 🌊🐟
Students will be getting hands on with marine biology, using equipment needed to view the underwater world with lots of role play with our fantastic collection of real-life fish and marine mammals. They will also be taking the controls of our remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and scientific sampling!

A big thank you to all of the parents and children who have donated to the Ukraine Appeal- an amazing effort! Thank you also to John for transporting it for us- another fantastic response from local families.

World Book Day
We will be celebrating World Book Day next week on Wednesday 2nd March. Children can dress up as any book character they like- we would love it if they brought the book in as well. Remember it doesn’t have to be fancy - lots of favourite characters wear clothes your child may already have at home.
We are also running an optional competition - make a potato look like a book character! There are lots of ideas for this online - ideas attached. Prizes to be given out on Wednesday.
We have a visiting author Author Helen Haraldsen running reading and writing workshops during the day!

Reminder- Tomorrow is m***i (something Green or a holiday outfit) for Drake House Charity Day in aid of Dreams Come True - suggested donation of £1. Also there will be a raffle, book/table top sale and competitions and games so please send your child in with a few extra pennies or donate online so that they can take part in the activities laid on by the members of Drake House. We have really enjoyed storytelling week - the children have shared lots of stories with different members of staff and today they have made up their own stories using interesting objects from home. Here are Yealm class telling their own stories to the class...

The allotment is looking great - a big thank you to Alice and gardening club for all of your hard work getting the raised beds and fruit bushes planted- we can't wait to start planting up the different areas ready for the summer!

We have been very lucky to have the Charity Jay's Aim in school this week teaching first aid to our Yr 5/6 children to explain the importance of our new defibrillator which has kindly been donated to the school by the charity. We will hold a m***i day next Friday to raise money for Jay's Aim so that other school can benefit from this life saving charity!

We have had a lovely Christmas week, Christmas dinner, a visit from santa, parties and a fantastic Nativity.
