Volunteers Wanted!
Devon Freewheelers are always looking for passionate volunteers to join our amazing team across our various roles. We're currently recruiting for volunteers across Devon.

We're looking for:
Riders and Drivers: These volunteers utilise our fleet of liveried Bikes and Cars to collect and deliver vital medical items across Devon. We also have two teams dedicated to resupplying the Devon Air Ambulance and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance with essential Blood products.

Controllers: These passionate volunteers are the first point of contact for the NHS and patients who wish to utilise our free service. They are responsible for overseeing our complex operation, utilising technology as well as their multitasking skills to distribute and monitor jobs.

Fundraisers: As a charity, we rely on donations to keep operating. We wouldn't be able to do what we do without our fundraisers providing us with the funds necessary to keep our bikes on the road and helping the NHS. They attend events, give talks, distribute collection pots and much more. If you're a local business in Devon and would like to help us raise funds, please contact us to find out more about having one of our collection pots.

Feeling up for the challenge? Want a satisfying voluntary role in a charity that helps save the NHS over £200,000 per year? To find out more, visit our website at:

Last year Devon Freewheelers...

💷Saved the NHS over £200,000
🧪Transported over 82,000 items
🤝Helped over 80,000 patients

We did this at no cost to the NHS, and our service operates 24/7 365.

We're only able to do this because of kind donations from the public as we receive no regular NHS funding. It's now even easier to donate, as we've launched a text to donate service. Details are on the image below.

Thank you to all our supporters, your help allows us to keep our bikes on the road and helping the NHS.

Team still working during the day to help the little babies and mums in the south west 💪

Devon Freewheelers volunteer Tony met up at M5 Junction27 with a member of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Support team, from Southmead, Bristol, to collect donations of breast milk to courier on to hospitals in Torbay, Plymouth and Cornwall.

This ‘milk run’ is a monthly collection service, where the charity picks up donated breast milk donations from the NICU support team, taking them on to wherever they are needed in the South West.

Here, Tony coincided the monthly run with an additional request, to pick up breast milk donations from Derriford Hospital for the NICU to take back to Southmead.
