We have been exceptionally lucky for the last 8 plus years, we have had land loaned to us, free of charge.
This land has been amazing for the horses, who for one reason and another will never find their forever home. It's given the herd stability, and they have stayed there until they ran peacefully over rainbow Bridge.
Unfortunately the house and land have been put up for sale, so sadly we have to move.
If you have or know of any land for rent then please private message us, and hopefully we will be able to move the herd without to much upset.

Just wanted to share some of our progress ❣️

We recently had a pony come in with the worst bout of sweetitch we have ever seen.

We contacted Oil 2 Horse to see if their products were suitable and they kindly donated some products to try.

To say we are amazed is an understatement.

We have attached pictures of our progress after just 4 days.

We started by using their shampoo bar and then applying the itch master cream. We now use a combination of the itch master shampoo and itch master cream and we are honestly amazed.

He is now barely itching. He's no longer angry at us treating him and the inflammation and redness has virtually gone. Added bonus is he smells absolutely amazing 🤣

This was the difference within just 4 days

Echo met the lovely Rachel Keeble yesterday.
Rachel is very impressed with her and says her CPL legs are well under control and she's has a great range of movent.
She had a lovely massage, and was very well behaved. ❤️

Miss Ella, is now with us, and under assessment.
She is looking for someone who can ride for a few hours a day, at least 4 or 5 days a week. Last year she was doing 40 miles with ease, she has been turned away for the winter, so would need bringing back into work.
She absolutely loves riding on Dartmoor, she's not jumped but will pop a log. She is highly strung, and is a lot of horse to ride and handle, she is absolutely not suitable for a novice or nervous rider.
If you would like to be considered to adopt Miss Ella, please pm us. Letting us know more about you, your experience and where you would like to keep her. The more you tell us, the more chance we have of matching to the best forever home. Her loan fee will be £1200.

Georgie had a tidy up clip, before he goes of to his new home next week.

We are going to have May tack sale to clear the tack room any items that are surplus to our needs, but this also generates very much needed cash for our depleted pot.

It's been a very long hard winter for us at Hoofbeats, Physically, emotionally and of course financially.

Apple has alot of spark left for life. She has lovely manners on the ground although can still be a cheeky pony if she wants a snack.
She has some loose teeth that aren't causing her any problems but will need some soaked grass nuts in the winter alongside her hay.
She would make a lovely companion and does not need restricted grazing as she finds grass the easiest to eat.
She has mild sweetitch controlled by a rug in the summer.

Apples loan fee will be £150 and she will come with a turnout rug and a fly rug.

Can you offer lovely mature girl Apple a forever home.
She needs a companion home although she would be happy to have a child on and lead up the lane and back.
She is fine health wise, has had sweetitch but this is controlled with a fly rug. Her only issue is her teeth are not as good as they should be, so she needs grass topped up with soaked grass nuts.

Pumpkin is probably the sweetest foal we have met in a long time, she truly loves people, and even at this age she is amazing with the kids.
She is good in the herd and plays a lot.
We feel the perfect home for pumpkin will be with someone who will love her until she is old enough to do something , and then be willing to put the work into giving her a job.

She cannot be kept in a field where she can itch herself on fences as she will knock them down and rub herself raw. She is respectful of electric fencing. She has always stamped with both her front and back feet, regardless of whether or not she has the mites.
Echo is such a lovely pony. She is the sort that you could ride every day, or once every couple of months and still be the exact same to ride. Never dangerous in any way. Hacks perfectly alone or in company, good in open spaces. Good in all kinds of traffic. She has been on l hound exercise and was impeccably behaved. She has been to fun rides and loved them. She will never be much of a jumper but she enjoys popping over a log or two while out hacking. It takes some gentle encouragement to get her to walk through water, but it really doesn’t take her long to figure things out and walk through politely.
Her perfect human would be someone willing to learn and look after the CPL as this will need to be cirrectly managed.
She would suit someone who wants to happy hack, fun rides and give lots of love.

We are putting this public notice to try to stop the nasty gossiping that is being spread about the circumstances of a horse on loan that was put to sleep yesterday....

1. The horse concerned was not on loan from the charity, it was a private arrangement by our Founder Sharon, and her personal horse.

2. The loanee has cared for the horse for many years and truly loves him.

3. The horse has been on and off lame since he was backed. The loanee has spent years and alot of money trying to sort him out.

4. Every step of the journey Sharon has been kept up to date, and every suggestion made by Sharon has been followed.

Sadly over the last year or so the horse has progressively gotten worse and it was agreed the loanee had done everything that could be done, and for the horses sake the time had come to call it a day a put the horse to sleep.

The loanee choose a beautiful day, so his end could be in the sunshine.

It was the hardest decision she had to make, but she did it totally for the horse, and with Sharon's backing all the way.

Sadly this horrific day has been made 1000% worse because of a couple of people, starting totally untrue rumours.

We would like to clarify that Andrew Goatman A P Goatman had Sharon's permission to put the horse to sleep, and she is absolutely NOT taking him to court for any reason.
I would also like to thank him for his usual care and professionalism, especially when this difficult time has been met with unwanted opinions from various others.

To the people who are making this so hard for the loanee and Andrew please let this go now and let people try and move on.

Lily is super friendly, good to catch, good to groom, good for the farrier, physio and dentist.

She's the perfect child's lead rein pony as is pretty bombproof when out and about.

Lily's downside is she needs work on her manners on the ground when leading. She's not nasty she is just strong and tries to take advantage if a novice is handling her.

Lily's perfect home would be little people to love and a competent adult to support them.

For an older child she would be good to ride out as she follows another horse.

In her previous loan home they were riding her as a first ridden however she does not have much motivation to work on her own. The foundations are there though so that could possibly be worked on.

Lily is due a dental check up in 6 months as she did have a tooth removed 6 months ago but that does not affect her in anyway.

Lily has had physio while with us and is good to go.

She will come with her fitted saddle and bridle.

Lily's rehoming fee £800

We need x 2 wintec 15 inch Changeable gullet saddles.
