Overdose Awareness Day - it can seem a strange day in the mass of calendared days.
The day is about raising compassion, understanding and ending the stigma of substance use to manage painful feelings.
The relatively recent emergence of synthetic substances has increased the risk to users.
With the ascendency of synthetic substances overdose is not only more common but also massively more deadly.
In the US one person dies every 7-8 minutes.
Whilst Scotland had a 5% increase is drug deaths last year.
Encouraging safe using practises is not encouraging or discouraging using.
